CARDINALS MAKE

ROSTER MOVES

Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals today announced that they have elevated wide receiver Reggie Newhouse from the practice squad to the 53-man roster and released cornerback Dyshod Carter.

Newhouse (6-1, 191) appeared in two games for the Cardinals earlier this season. The former Baylor Bear was inactive for four others and dressed but did not play in the season opener at St. Louis. He was released from the active roster and signed to the practice squad on November 2.

Carter appeared in six games for the Cardinals recording three tackles on defense and seven on special teams. He was inactive for four other games including last Sunday’s contest against the New York Jets.

In addition, the Cardinals have signed cornerback Clarence Curry to the practice squad. Curry (6-1, 210) was with the Cardinals during training camp as an undrafted rookie free agent and was released on August 22. The Parsippany, NJ native collected 112 tackles, 29 pass deflections and 5 interceptions as a two-year starter at Villanova.

Newhouse will wear #87 and Curry will wear #41.

I take it Newhouse developed some chemistry with Navarre on the practice squad?

I can't wait. Boom or bust, it should be exciting.

This was my initial thought also that maybe Newhouse has some chemistry and will give us a better deep threat than we have had with Johnson. I like it.

We must be the only team in the NFL who keeps are best players inactive or on the practice Squad.

When we win the Super Bowl, every team in the league will be following our example.:)

I am just glad that on the last day of November I am thinking about the current season and not the upcoming offseason. Denny certainly keeps it interesting.

Newhouse

Doesn't have great speed but great hands. Maybe Karl Williams is now on the bubble...remember that two handed drop.

simply amazing

If its not some kind of conspircy, its second guessing. Newhouse is getting a chance because its Green's first year....geez. Everyone deserves a shot at this point, even Navarre oops, I mean Newhouse.

Could they put the fast Newhouse in on some plays so Navarre will have a WR going deep?
Anyone know the kid's speed? I always thought of him more as a dependable possession guy.

My guess is that - more than providing a deep threat for Navarre - they wanted someone in there who was more compatible with Navarre from a standpoint of timing and broken pattern adjustments.

Have we even seen Navarre throwing to Boldin or Fitz? I think everytime he came in during the preseaon, it was with the third teamers. Giving him a familiar target makes sense. Good move by Green.

Actually, Newhouse may be our fastest WR. That's not saying much but he plays Bryant Johnson's position.
