More concerned with O-Line than McCown or Shipp

A couple of threads were started questioning the likes of McCown and Shipp. Well I think the O-Line is still the biggest question on offense. If it isn't corrected then Tom Brady and Priest Holmes would struggle behind it.

I agree. The attitude here is let's starting planning for 2005 so we can draft Ryan Leaf and Thomas Jones. There are no guarantees in the NFL Draft.

In 2 years we'll know who was a bust from the current draft class.

IMO they have the players in the OL but have been underachievers also I believe there have been some injuries.

I agree that the Oline is the big question mark this year.

We currently have 3 spots settled.
Shelton, Big, Kendall.

2 spots unsettled.
Spikes, Clement.

I see Green taking his best five and putting them in play.
there are some options.

We currently have the two new rookies that play Center and Guard.
We have Wragge, Wells, Roundtree, Garcia, Rogers fighting for playing time.

I see the new line on the left side working well together and the cardinals
are able to generate better rushing stats this year. This happens because
Green has placed his best linemen on the same side as well as using the pass
to set up the run. This forces the defense to make decisions on whether to
double cover a wide receiver or keep the extra defender in run support.

Wylie is a difference maker as OL coach. The Bears OL did very well under him, even when completely gutted by injuries.

I envision Shelton, Big, Kendall, Wells, Clement as the opening day OL barring injury. I don't buy into the Big getting cut stuff and I base Wells on the fact Wylie was very complimentary of Wells ability and said Wells would most likely be moved inside. IMO, there isn't another player currently on the roster who can take Clement's place so he stays put

Maybe someone who saw alot of the minicamp stuff can illuminate who was running first team OL even though a couple sat out with injuries.

I doesn't make sense, because I was referring to the first line of the original post "questioning the likes of McCown and Shipp". I made a general statement regarding all these threads.

The team is successful as a whole. You can't stick Tom Brady in as QB and he will take the Cards to a Super Bowl win. You need OL, RB, receivers, and smart coaching.

This OL needs to step up too.
