I thought the article the other day in the East Valley Tribune said that he has a $350,000 buyout. I could be wrong. If you go to the link there is also a section about Cabarkapa playing for his national team in the Olympics rather than working out here with Barbosa and Lampe. Joe Mama

Milos Vujanic, Europe's top point guard, has tougher hurdles to get to the Suns than he did last summer when the Knicks drafted him.

Vujanic has expressed a desire to join the Suns, who traded for his rights in January, to his Yugoslavian countrymen and friends in the NBA. It would have been a smoother entry last year when he had a $150,000 buyout. He is in the first year of a three-year deal with Skipper Bologna in Italy and does not have a buyout clause, which is $500,000, until after next season.

Another snag is that Bologna teammate Carlos Delfino, who is Pistons property, also wants to come to the NBA.

"Ultimately his agent needs to negotiate a buyout with the club," Colangelo said.

Vujanic made two free throws with 3.8 seconds left in an 81-80 win Wednesday that sent Bologna to the European Final Four.

If he wants to be a Sun, his people and the Suns' people will find a way to make it happen. Suns will have to give him $2-3M per year, but it will be well- worth it- this kid is an amazing basketball player.

3M$? The Suns better not sign him for that much. That's #1 pick kind of money. The Suns would be better using that money on better and proven free agents.

If he wants that much they should wait until they have the MLE and no valueable capspace to lose.

Marko Jaric got 3 years, $6 million. Rightly or wrongly, the market has been set - and Vujanic is a much better player than Jaric.

How do you figure? Marko Jaric is a starter for his national team. Milos is a substitute.

And 3 years 6M$ figures to be a starting salary of under 2M$.

Manu Ginobili got a normal 2nd round contract. Maciej Lampe got like 4 years 5M$ or something like that. Okur got a normal 2nd round contract.

Jaric sucks. Have you seen him play? He is worthless on the Clippers.

Unfortunately, there's no guarantee that Vujanic will be any better. Jaric was a hot prospect when his play was limited to European leagues.

That's true, but slin was implying that because Jaric starts for his national team that means he's a good player. That is not true, unfortunately, regardless of whether or not Milos will be comparable.

I think the 350,000 number is what the Suns are allowed to contribute. The rest has to be paid by the player.

Well, its obvious that MILOS thinks he's all that, and so does his agent. But we certainly have no guarantees that he will be effective.

Jaric came to the Clips with more hype about him than Milos is getting. Thats just the facts.

I really do think that we are jumping the gun if we are assuming that he will even be in the regular rotation next year, even if he does come.

How many here have actually seen him play?

the suns are not the clippers, that simple fact and the fact that the clippers do most of their scouting by reading the papers and seeing who is said to be great and not who their scouting staff (if they have any) say is going to be good.

the suns have been one of the most successful teams in the nba at finding real players in the draft and helping them grown into becoming very good players. (almost everyone said that it would take amare years before he worth the pick). if the suns think that milos is going to be a good player i happen to think based on there past that he will be a good player.

After reading the article I came to a simple conclusion: the Suns will not bring in Vujanic if they have to use all their cap space for Kobe. If they cannot sign Kobe, the extra for the buyout won't make any difference.

If you believe Chad for even one bit the clippers have one of the best European scouts in the business.

Slin, how many times have you seen Milos Vujanic play? Have you seen him recently? I ask because you seem to have a certain bias against him while you are advocating signing players like Jamaal Crawford for at least the mid-level exception. By all accounts Vujanic is an exceptional outside shooter. Even if he isn't a true point guard he is also supposed to be a good passer and ball handler.

I think the Phoenix Suns will definitely make their play for Kobe Bryant or whoever else they are eyeing in free agency before they try to bring Vujanic to Phoenix.

Actually, I saw Jaric play a few times last year, and when I was watching, it looked like he was the best PG on the Clippers' roster. (Not that that's saying much.)

He was supposed to be a real factor this year, but I guess it didn't work out that way...

As for Vujanic, it seems pretty clear that it will take a contract at least as good as Jaric's to bring him over. Chances are that won't be much of a problem for the Suns, though.

Well, #1, his only competition was Keyon Dooling. So that probably made him look like Pistol Pete out there. And #2, I live in LA and even though they don't televise every Clipper game, they televise a lot--and he stinks.

Earlier in the season I thought the Clippers might have a shot at Kobe because he could stay in LA, etc. But that team has more talent than a great many teams but less chemistry than any team I can think of (the Wizzards and Bulls are tied for second).

With JJ on a gimpy ankle, Harvey having a disclocated finger to go along with injuries to Voskuhl, White, and Eisley - the Suns may play down to the Clippers level. But I would not bet against the Clippers finding a way to lose.
