Not concerned, and for a reason no one has mentioned yet: Miami is in turnover/rebuild mode on the coaching staff. We have a system and coaches in place who were able to take a team that was discombobulated at the beginning of 2011, to a 7-2 finish.

Stability wise, Arizona is the better choice. But even beyond that, Miami would be foolish to not bring in Matt Flynn, who already knows their entire offensive system, and clear can run it well.

@AdamSchefter: Peyton Manning is willing to create a contract that would contain no guaranteed money up front and would be incentive laden with bonuses.

That's right in the Bidwills wheelhouse. If true, it means it won't come down to a bidding war for Peyton, which bodes well for us

There's still going to be a number of teams bidding for his services and that doesn't bode well for us. The Cards usually don't end up on the good side of those situations.

Why? If money isn't the primary factor in Peyton's decision then the Cardinals have as much, if not more, to offer than any of the other teams that will be trying to sign him.

Your and Shane's argument seems to consist of "he won't sign here" and not much else.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that the statement Peyton made really doesn't change things. He didn't say that money wouldn't be a factor, he is rumored to have said that he would be open to more of an incentive laden contract. Those are two very different statements. An incentive laden contract could still be worth $20-$30 million annually. If Peyton is going to be a healthy free agent, there will be a number of teams that want him. His rumored statement does nothing that would move the Cardinals up or down that list of likely landing spots. They're still going to have to beat out all the other interested teams to get him.

All things being equal then I'd agree that $$$ could be the tipping factor. The Cards will have to make a very strong case that all other factors are in fact more favourable to Manning's productive return with them. Ownership that doesn't meddle in football decisions; a mature head coach who can cater to his special needs; a solid lineup on both sides of the ball and a willingness to garner a few missing pieces.
