No other team in the NFL would play Dansby at ILB. Only the Cardinals.

You base that on what?

The Steelers play Timmons inside. The Raiders play Morrison inside.

Just because we're weak at OLB and DAnsby would upgrade that position doesn't mean that Dansby doesn't belong inside in the scheme.

The WILB position in our 34 have responsiblities and assignments that are very much like the WOLB position in 43. Especially when we send the WOLB on the blitz, which happens much more often than the SOLB. When the blitz comes elsewhere from, then sometimes his position has elements of an ILB and yes he struggles sometimes in those situations.

Dansby is our most protected lineman. That is very easy to see. Hayes always ends up with some lineman directly in his face, yet he consistenly ends up dealing with it very well. OLBs need to defeat lineman all the time as well. Dansby is kept as free as is possbile for any linebacker position in entire NFL.

Given that, You would expect monster production... Yet, he makes very few plays compared to what you expect, and given that he is arround tackles so often, it is highly dissapointing he gets broken IMO little bit to often. He has even been broken by QB's before. He allows too many yards after his first contact and i can find examples in every game if that's the case.

What is he good at? He is very good in dropping back, he can play sideline to sideline, and he is an OK passrusher. And he is good at talking alot. He is not a horrible tackler, he is solid, but that's just about it. Im sure nobody on any offense finds him intimidating. AW, Dockett, Hayes, they are on other hand quiet intimidating players.

It is easy to find an athlete in the draft that will be protected in similar way and that can drop back but yet be only solid upfront, but not a beast in any kind of way.

You don't pay so much money for Dansby, that is a huge mistake, and i'm sure we will not commit that.

You draft a WILB, cause he (Dansby) will be easy ro replace. Heck, i think Ali Highsmith with the experience from this year can be good there. He has shown he can drop back and read the plays just like Dansby. He has been horrible at tackling so far, if he can fix that during this year, i believe he can do it.

If it were up to me, Cardiac, I would switch Dansby to WOLB right now (to see his value there and to get an upgrade there) and I would start Reggie Walker (if you recall, this kid plays north south...remember the two goal-line stand stops he had in the pre-season?)...or I would move Wilson to WILB, now that would be a thrill!

But, if the Cardinals don't ever find out for themselves what kind of impact Dansby would have as a WOLB...they will let him go and find out the hard way the way they did with Leonard Davis, who was clearly playing out of position because of Denny "Pie Chart" Green and his theory that high paid o-linemen should be LTs...even when they jump off-side and hold a combination of four to five times a game.

Have asked about Walker before. He may not be the answer but if I recall in preseason he showed he could tackle. If Hayes can't go we need to give this a try.

Well that wasn't much on Sunday. Dansby had offensive linemen all over him. He was constantly having to avoid or take on a Guard or a Tackle.
