For a second I was thinking...where the heck is the "Finish him" or fatality. Then they came at the end. This looks damn good.

I still remember the original arcade game like it was yesterday. It was so much fun.

I am going to date myself but when this game was hot in the arcade, I played through the entire thing on just a few quarters. I drew a crowd because not many people had seen people play through the entire game. If I recall I played through it a couple times when the game was hot using Raiden, Sub Zero Liu Kang and Johnny Cage. I don't recall being able to do it with any of the other characters.

Was this right before you got digitized into the computer and had to battle Sark and the MCP for the freedom of all programs? :hacker:

I remember taking my "Gamepro" magazine with all the fatality combos in it to video round up on indian school and scottsdale road and playing it for hours and hours trying to do all of the fatalities.

Arcades were still popular until late 90's. The one near me lasted into the 2000's. The place was great, they used to hook up buttons with wires a couple times a year and had a free day, where hitting that button would give you credits. Even now they have things like Dave and Buster. It's just they're niche now that PC's and consoles can do what arcades can. Which is also why you see arcades mostly have physical interactions with their games. Where you can sit down and stuff moves, and crap like that. That's the thing they can offer that can't or can't easily occur at home.

Was never a big fan of these games, but I've had my share of fun. This game does look great.

I also during a summer sale bought Injustice: Gods among us. Uses DC characters, and is really cool. Mortal Kombat X looks to top that, and I think it will be successful in doing so.

We used to have this arcade in Tempe, AZ called Starship Fantasy owned by a guy named Larry Rosenthal. I kid you not it was the best arcade in town. The entry into the arcade was this brigly lit neon tunnel if I remember correctly. It was the ultimate for anybody living here.

There used to be this one arcade game that everyone knew had an electrical glitch. If you rubbed your feet on the carpet while rubbing the metal screws on the cabinet..it used to cause the game to give you free credits. LOL.

I try to explain arcades to my kids but they have exposure to Dave & Busters or Gameworks. They didn't understand arcades were everywhere and how cool it was.

Watch A Fatality From Every Mortal Kombat X Fighter

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2015/04/13/mortal-kombat-x-fatalities-video.aspx

Getting great reviews. I dont usually get a lot out of these games beyond a few weeks of playing with it as I dont have friends come over every day after school to play video games anymore. With that being said, I will likely wait until I can get the game for $20 and all of the dlc for another $10.

Goro is DLC, another pack will have jason vorhees, predator and someone else. Itll run you 80-100 to get everything now which is ridiculous.

I bought this game yesterday and have yet to play it. Not sure I will even know how to play it, but I'll figure it out eventually

The graphics look spectacular, I'm sure it will be fun even if you're getting it handed to you for a while.
