Any choices for most over rated pick by any team in the first round?

Perfect for the Cards, who really only needed project players, this draft was almost exclusively project players.

I use 2004 as a comparison for all draft classes and the 2009 group just doesn't stack up.

Of course now that I've posted this 70% of the guys through the fifth round will have long productive NFL careers.

I think Tyson Jackson should have been an option.

I could have put everyone of them up there.... except for Wells. I have quite a few more who I felt were deserving. I just thought these were the sore thumbs for value. It was a shallow talent pool this year.

I don't think Heyward-Bey is overrated when basically everybody ripped on that pick. He was the worst pick of the entire draft though. Worse than their second rounder because you just can't reach like that in the top 10.

Mark Sanchez being the second-coming all of the sudden just because a New York team traded up to get him is a joke. Now, THAT is overrated.

I don't think there was an overrated pick in this draft. A lot of the guys graded out similarly and most of it pretty much preference.

If I had to choose it would be either stafford and sanchez or both. Not to say those guys can't do it. I think they have potential. but the QB position is the toughest to play mentally. and both those franchises are now riding on their shoulders.

I agree with you shogun....some on here are saying crabtree, but the guy fell to 10 when most people thought he was sure top 5. a lot of players in this draft fell and that's just the way it goes. The same happened to leinart when everyone thought he could be the first QB taken. Chris Wells almost fell out of the first round so on the flip side maybe he was overrated coming out of Ohio state. I think the cards got a fine RB. Just saying there are all different ways you could spin the overrated arguement back and forth because it goes full circle. We won't know until about 3-4 years when we've had the chance to see these guys play on the field. But the so called experts seem to already know the future.

Anyone can keep changing their top 10 draft order for months and then get it close 5 mins prior based on posturing of the top ten teams. Hell they still didn't realize that al davis would come with a surprise pick....if it's not right in front of their face they just can't see the future.

Not sure that Crabtree fell to #10. Up until the last few years, WRs hardly ever went top 10.

I voted for Sanchez.

The kid has only 16 college starts. Low number of college starts for a quarterback has always been a pretty good indicator of problems when moving on to the NFL.

I heard one expert say the thing that worried him was that in most of his dropbacks he was standing in the pocket with little or no rushers around him. When he completed his passes the receivers were many times wide open.

He won't have that luxury in the NFL and it will be interesting to see how he performs with rushers all around him, grabbing at him, tugging at him, and just being in your face and space most of the time.

And then he won't find a lot of wide open receivers in the NFL. He will have to up his game considerably to make it in the big leagues.

This is why Pete Carroll really didn't want him to turn pro with so little college experience.

that was weird with the whole pete carroll comments. I've never seen a coach do that to one of his players. I believe him.

The difference between the success of Stafford & Sanchez is the OLines they play behind. The Jets put a lot of effort into their OLine, Sanchez will benefit from this.

Big BQ!
Crabtree will be frail for the first couple of years in the League, esp with the Cards cranking down on him twice a year!!!
