I am bored out of my mind, so I decided to make a thread about the most horrible and painful phoenix suns moments in phoenix suns history. There is a lot to chose from, all 40 years of it.

10.Getting owned by the Spurs
9.Not getting Kareem Abdul Jabbar after the coin mistake
8.Game 6 against Celtics in 1976
7.Selling of Kurt to Seattle and our beloved draft picks
6.Cotton passing
5.Robert Sarver buying the team
4.1994+95 seasons
3.Our resilliant 2006 team losing to the Mavs(would of owned the Heat)
2.Paxson's dagger 3

I wouldn't know since I'm not a Suns fan, but if I were I would think the Paxson 3 would be the alltime painful memory.

Certainly not the worst.

Mcdyess returning to Denver.

Joe leaving and Amare's microfracture in the same summer.

With all the unlucky stuffs that happened in 05-06 season, that season was something special in my mind.

My list would include trading Ricky Sobers, trading for Rick Robey, acquiring Luc Longley and gifting two draft picks to Seattle along with Kurt Thomas.

Paxon

I've followed the Suns since before we got Barkley. My worst memories are our playoff exits, from then to now:

1. Paxon. Ceballos' broken leg.
2. Barkley and Majerle dissapearing from playoff series vs Houston in back-to-back years.
3. Oliver Miller eating and Richard Dumas snorting their way out of Phoenix.
4. "The dark years". Suns teams with Jason Kidd, Robert Horry, Uncle Cliffie, Pinhead Danny Manning and the like. Still a Suns fan though!
5. JJ breaks his face, Bell tears his calf, Barbosa's bruised elbow in consecutive years, along with ridiculous good performances by Mavs and Spurs players well assisted by referee no calls and suspensions.
6. JJ leaving for Atlanta. Atlanta!? (a.k.a. McDyess Part II) and Amare having microfracture surgery.

I don't mean to be rude or too harsh with pinning blame but you must understand these are hurtful feelings for me.

#1 Robbert Horry hip checking Nash into the scorers' table.

Paxon used to be #1, but honestly, it doesn't even compare for me. Sure that was the closest we got to a ring, but the Suns did take one of the geratest basketball teams ever to 6 games, and the Bulls won on a great last second shot. I can accept it, congratulate the Bulls, and move on.

I can even get over Duncan's three in game 1 this past year, and chalk up Nash's broken nose and Joe Johnson's injury a few years ago to bad luck. But as a fan I will never get over Horry's foul, the way it was handled, and the implications.

I am not seeing how the hip check is anywhere near as bad as the Paxson shot in GAME 6 of the FINALS!

Because that team was not going to beat Jordans Bulls honestly.
Probably not, but it was the Finals, and I was still high on the purple koolaid. I don't think the Suns beat the Spurs last year even without the hip check. Sorry, I just don't.

I disagree I think they had overcome the Spurs until the suspensions basically gave them the series and oh thats right another championship.

Or maybe I see it as the worst is because it still hurts as the most recent painful moment that ended IMHO a championship run. And as much as I love the Suns I don't think they were beating the Bulls in the Finals anyway, Paxon just ended it early.

I have the greatest resentment towards Horry for his lack of effort while he was a Sun.
It proves that he's a coattail rider that needs a great big - Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan.
For how big Horry is, he played like a little man.

I suppose you are right. The Suns were down 3-1 already. I might be wrong but the collapse against the Rockets two bleeping years in a row might have hurt as much as the Spurs losses.

The following suspensions I would assume are why it was the worst.

Paxon's 3 was like ripping off a bandaid. You saw it coming, it came, and it went away.

The hip check was a slow and painful death by events that no one saw coming.

What about the picks of Pickney, Gilliam, and Bedford? Any honorable mention?

Drug problems for:
Walter Davis (my favorite Suns player growing up along with Westphal)
Richard Dumas (so much potential)
Johnny High death (sad to hear)
