Synopsis from Amazon.com:
Freely adapted from Robert Ludlum's 1980 bestseller, The Bourne Identity starts fast and never slows down. The twisting plot revs up in Zurich, where amnesiac CIA assassin Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), with no memory of his name, profession, or recent activities, recruits a penniless German traveler (Run Lola Run's Franka Potente) to assist in solving the puzzle of his missing identity. While his CIA superior (Chris Cooper) dispatches assassins to kill Bourne and thus cover up his failed mission, Bourne exercises his lethal training to leave a trail of bodies from Switzerland to Paris. Director Doug Liman (Go) infuses Ludlum's intricate plotting with a maverick's eye for character detail, matching breathtaking action with the humorous, thrill-seeking chemistry of Damon and Potente. Previously made as a 1988 TV movie starring Richard Chamberlain, The Bourne Identity benefits from the sharp talent of rising stars, offering intelligent, crowd-pleasing excitement from start to finish.

I really like this movie. I didn't think Matt Damon would be very believable as a CIA assassin when I first saw it, but he was very good in this role. The fight and action sequences are well choreographed. The movie is fast-paced and well acted. Franka Potente is very good alongside Damon, as well as being smokin' hot!

I also enjoyed the scenery and locations in Europe.

I am a big fan of spy movies and this is one of my favorites.

Great movie. This movie really solidified the fact that Matt Damon is a lot better than his buddy Ben Affleck. And you can't go wrong with Franka Potente.

I loved this movie. It was just like watching a live action version of one of the Metal Gear games. I never read the books so I wasn't concerned with how faithful it was but I thought it worked very well. This movie solidified Doug Liman as a multi-talented director.

The fight scenes are incredible. I don't know if they slowed the film speed down a little bit or what, but man, that action is fast! That's the way a fight scene should always be done, IMO.

Loved the movie. I have seen it several times, and I hope that they plan on starting the 3rd movie soon.

Also, Here's my vote for Damon as Captain America (I think Marvel has that one in development right now).

Both of these were really impressive. I’m looking forward to the third. It’s scheduled to come out next August.

Just watched this, finally. Thanks DCR.

holy moly, the alternate ending was/is turrible! Can you say hollywood sap. I would have been embarassed to include that.

Not a great movie (cepting the fight scenes), but pretty good, and really good in parts.

Needed more Clive Owen.
