A classic film starring the lovely Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard.
Plot Summary:
Based on Truman Capote's novel, this is the story of a young, jet- setting woman in New York City who meets a young man when he moves into her apartment building. He is being kept by a wealthy, older woman, but wants to be a writer. She is working as a high-priced escort and searching for a rich, older man to marry. The opening scene has her window-shopping at Tiffany's at six in the morning, after being up all night on a date.

A must see for any classic film fan - or Audrey Hepburn fan. Deals with a very touchy subject (for the time) - prostitution - in a very tactful manner.

The only mar on the film, IMHO is Mickey Rooney playing a stereotypical Japanese artist, of all things.

No responses yet? I thought I would go classic, after the junk flicks I have been posting this week - thought at least CHAPLIN would have something good to say about it. :)

I have actually never seen Breakfast at Tiffany's--definitely making me sheepish. I have it on my list of DVDs to purchase, though... :)

Got the Audrey Hepburn collection - 5 of her best movies in one box. Definate must for a film buff.

Is that a VHS set? The only Audrey Hepburn Collection on DVD is the 3 disc set with My Fair Lady, Breakfast at Tiffany's and Roman Holiday... (Roman Holiday is terrific, BTW)

DVD set, but thinking back it had only 4 - It had My Fair Lady (great musical), Breakfast, Roman Holiday and Sabrina - it could have been just a local promotion and packaging, don't remember complete details.

Hmmm...never saw it, but it does remind me of this very repetetive song by Deep Blue Something.

And I said "What about Breakfast at Tiffany's?" She said: I think I remember the film and as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it..." And I said, "well, that's the one thing we've got."

:D

Did you buy the Barbara Streisand collection too? I'm sure Chaplin has it for obvious reasons :|

What a dick!

Jon, pay no mind to this *******.

EVERYONE should own that collection. Audrey Hepburn was a classy lady, a wonderful actress, and hot as hell to boot.

Breakfast at Tiffanys is a fantastic film, and I agree with the Rooney call. I don't understand that part, but it was a different era, and stereotypical humor like that was unfortunately a lot more readily used (see The Pink Panther movies).

What was the film Hepburn played the blind girl being terrorized in her apartment? What a great film as well.

I just loved Audrey as Holly. She is the type of girl you want to take home & make her your own.

She's gorgeous, outrageously fun, smart, witty & a general good time.

She doesn't take the time to know people's names, just calls them whatever she feels like. She calls her cat "Cat", calls Peppard's character "Fred" because he reminded her of someone (I think brother or cousin) named Fred, when his name is actually Paul.

She calls her neighbors by their apt numbers - 2E for for one lady.

Peppard was awesome. He gets entangled with her & becomes a total smitten kitten. The scenes in the stores are priceless.

And Ryan - Audrey Hepburn better looking than anything on the screen today - she had a classy beauty that you don't see anymore.

I will not sit through any movie with Streisand, Cher, or Woody Allen.

That was Wait Until Dark.

Breakfast at Tiffany's is a great movie. I bought it for the wife on DVD. She absolutely loves Audrey! So do I, but who doesn't?

I actually prefer the older Hepburn films. Sabrina, Roman Holiday & Love in the Afternoon in that order. I have them all. You can't top Bogart, William Holden, Gregory Peck & Gary Cooper as co-stars. :)
