Since it's already Friday (TGIF) I decided to select an upbeat movie to end the week and usher in the weekend with.
Thanks again to Amazon.com for the following:

Before he became an overrated filmmaker, Cameron Crowe (Jerry Maguire) was a reporter for Rolling Stone who was so youthful looking that he could go undercover for a year at a California high school and write a book about it. He wrote the script for this film, based on that book, and it launched the careers of several young actors, including Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judge Reinhold, Phoebe Cates, and, above all, Sean Penn. The story line is episodic, dealing with the lives of iconic teen types: one of the school's cool kids, a nerd, a teen queen, and, most enjoyably, the class stoner (Penn), who finds himself at odds with a strict history teacher (a wonderfully spiky Ray Walston). This is not a great movie but very entertaining and, for a certain age group, a seminal movie experience. --Marshall Fine --This text refers to the VHS Tape edition.

Personal Note: I've always enjoyed this film (I must admit because of Jennifer Jason Leigh and Phoebe Cates), because it will always be in touch with the times. It's a movie that has never lost its luster to me. Sean Penn's performance as Spicoli was a classic in itself. Yes, "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" is more of a cult-classic and is obviously geared towards the younger "masses", but does the movies bring back memories.....

One of my all time favorit comedies. Everybody in this film is excellent, and the screenplay is perfect in every way.

Timeless. Everyone should own this and memorize it.

That makes two of us MadCardDisease. I was only 1 when it came out, so I should be exempt.

You guys need to see it. If nothing else, it will teach you the importance of locking the door when you're in the bathroom. :D

Great pick!

The movie also had Goose from Top Gun and Eric Stoltz in it as well as Forrest Wittaker.

Wow. Then you have no excuse!

Dont forget who else was in it. A young Nicolas Cage, screen credited as Nicolas Coppola.

Just saw this movie last night for the first time. Really funny and a pop classic.

JJL and Phoebe Cates are smokin' hot.

Hopefully you saw the unedited version, it’s just not the same when it’s on regular TV. In the TV version all of my favorite lines are cut out or modified to sound ridiculous.
