This is day one of my plan to bring my lunch to work and not eat any junk food from the vending machine. I am also trying to cut out diet soda.

I can eat what I want only if I bring it from home.

4 hours to go. I already ate everything I brought. Need to bring more tomorrow.

Good luck, man. I'm lucky my options here are far more limited than yours. Crappy, overpriced Mexican food restaurant on the main floor of my building, and nothing else.

I bring a salad at least 4 days a week and yogurt, tuna pouches and protein bars for snacks. It works pretty well.

Those are some options for sure, but I need more variety. :) And protein bars are too gross and chemically tasting for me.

Haha. The crap I bring from home will be my crap. And will taste good. I don't really need to do this to lose weight or anything. I just want to stop eating vending machine stuff and drinking diet soda.

While I like those things, it is much easier to avoid them by adding the extra step of me having to buy them at the store and then bring them to work.

Ha! Instead just make sure you carry no money with you so the vending machine isnt an option :)

haha, I wish I did eat quinoa, I just don't like the texture. Brown rice is not a bad idea actually.

Ok, I had an excellent cheese scone from a bakery from my house. Don't usually have that around, it was in the fridge, so I brought it.

A banana, I found in the office kitchen.

Peanut butter and jelly on multigrain sourdough bread. Quick good.

Tortellini in pesto, I got from a deli yesterday.

Tons of water to pretend I wasn't hungry.

If you want to give up diet soda, I would recommend going to Fry's supermarket and getting some Aquafina Flavor Splash (in the bottled water section). The grape flavor is the best.

No calories and IMO tastes better than soda. I haven't had a soda in forever.
