Munich submits 2018 Winter Olympics bid (AP)

Munich has officially launched its bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics. Organizers said Wednesday that top officials of Germany's national Olympic association and Munich Mayor Christian Ude sent letters informing the International Olympic Committee of the bid. Munich aims to become the first city to host both the summer and winter Olympics.
