I actually don’t think Dobbs has been that bad. I don’t think Tune would have beat Dallas, so I’m happy for that.
However, I still don’t know why they wasted the draft capital to get him so close to the start of the season. Our record would have been been the same with Tune.
How would the record be the same if Tune doesn't beat Dallas?

You think Gannon wants Clayton Tune to fail so he can play Josh Dobbs again... you think that's the plan huh? Even tho it's been announced Dobbs is the #3 QB now... and you're also suggesting we'll see Josh Dobbs again before we see Kyler Murray...

And this will all be to distract fans with low football IQs?
No. I don’t think he wants him to fail, but it is easy to just go back to Dobbs if he does. And yes, Tune starting will distract fans from the misery of our QB situation without Kyler.

Gannon reached the point where if Dobbs was given yet another vote of confidence then he loses the locker room.

We all sit here and blather about "let's evaluate this guy". But this isn't training camp and the other players don't give two rips about evaluating the QB position for next year. Their futures are on the line, right now. They want to play well and look good and they want to win. Things might not change too much with either Murray or Tune. But the world knows what is not working and you don't have your players continue to buy in if you seem like the idiots that can't figure that out.

Gannon acknowledged he watched the tape and made the change. Imagine having to watch dobbs play that game not just once , but multiple times. Not surprised
I’m happy we have a HC who isn’t stubborn to a fault and can admit when it’s time for change, even after publicly denying so after that game.

What I like is that Gannon said after watching the film he came to the conclusion Tune or Murray will start.

So he defended his QB after the game but then sat down and watched the tape, realized how poorly Dobbs actually played, and made a change.

I like that.

I'm guessing Dobbs doesn't dress unless there's an injury to Tune or Murray - but anything's possible

I don’t believe we carry 3 QBs on the game day roster.

Technically we can now without it effecting much. If it's Dobbs or Kyler, they just can come in unless the other two have actual medical issues.

In May, NFL clubs approved 2023 Bylaw Proposal 1A that permits each team to dress a 49th player as its Emergency Third Quarterback. The following procedures are in place for use of an Emergency Third Quarterback in a regular or postseason game.

Dobbs Is tough and athletic we may use him like the Saints using taysom Hill
I was impressed in some of his run and breaking tackles
Hill is 6'2" and 100 KG.
Dobbs is 6'3" 96 KG.

Hill is a TE they list as QB sometimes and is stout. Dobbs is lanky and just a QB. He would get destroyed playing that role, sorry.

It makes sense. If Kyler isn't ready to go, Tune might suck for a game or two. We know Dobbs is going to suck for a game or two.

Players know it's almost Kyler time and we might as well see what Tune has. If it goes bad, they all know it's likely one or two games.

Another intriguing angle is if Tune starts, whether Kyler is active.
