This is a signal to the rest of the NFL and the pundits, this is no longer the same ol' Cardinals and it starts today.

Big ups to the Bidwills for this great move, and one the Cardinals have never been able to make happen.:fans:

Yes! Finally a top free agent has visited the Cards and not used the opportunity as a bargaining chip.

In the past the Bidwills would drive a wedge between the team and the fans, but now the Bidwills have delivered an Edge to get the fans to drive to see the team...

That's not totally accurate. Other major cities have also added room and car rental taxes during the past decade for various reasons, including stadium construction costs.

They said, "Build it and they will come." We built it and now the free agents are coming.

Boy, what I just wrote could be twisted and taken the wrong way. :)

Just in case you missed it, it started couple of years back... the "same ol' Cards" were buried and new Cards took their place.

On an earlier thread, I posted a response to a couple of Fox naysayers which I think may be more appropriate here.

The (can't win for losing) criticism by Prisco and Judge was that the Cardinals were rolling heavy dice on one player who's absorbed a lot of hits during his first 7 years thereby increasing the risk of injury.

In the past, the Cardinals never rolled the dice. They'd simply pass on high upside/high downside propositions, played what they thought were the percentages and remained chronically lodged in the lowliest quartile of the NFL.

Unless you occasionally take a shot at the gold, you will never get any gold.

A year ago, the pundits were cautioning against gambling on the health of Jamal Lewis, Shawn Alexander and Edgerrin James. The pundits were wrong.

We should remember that Football is not a game of certainty. It is a game of probability and possibility. You line up the circumstances, take your best shot and don't blink.

We don't know for sure that Edgerrin will survive another 4 years of pounding (let alone one), but the time was right for taking a shot at glory, and the Bidwills stepped up to the plate and, in my opinion, made the right move.

There's no certainty that the move will prove successful. (We still have an offensive line to make competant). There's only the probability. It was a move the Cardinals had to make. And for, once, they made it. (No guts no glory).

Meanwhile, for better or for worse, let's enjoy the ride.

I woke up today, and it's still true. The Arizona Cardinals just signed arguably the BEST player left on the market. Amazing.

Big props to the entire organization!

What really gets my goat about some of the articles is, they don't even mention we have a new O line coach (and a damn good one from what I have heard). They just keep ripping on the Cards because we haven't proven anything on the field (can't say I blame them).

I'm not sure who to pick at #10. My gut tells me they should take Vernon Davis and give the opposing DC's so many players to cover they have no idea what to do. I think maybe a better choice is just to go with BPA.
