I'd like to hear your guesses/wishes.

MVP:Lebron James

Coach Of The Year:Byron Scott

6 th Man: Manu Ginobili

Most Improved Player: Hedo Turkoglu

Rookie Of The Year:Kevin Durant

Defensive Player Of The Year: Marcus Camby

But I know MVP can go to Kobe, coch can be given to Sloan/Stan Van Gundy;rookie can be Horford or even Luis Scola,MIP can be Beno Udrih or J.Calderon

There's no way Manu should get 6th man of the year because he's an artificial 6th man. That would be like D'Antoni not starting Amare for the first few minutes, and then still playing him starters minutes. I think it would be completely against the spirit of the award to give it to Ginobili.

Bell plays 30+ MPG and is a staple of our starting 5. Finley plays for 4 minutes and the manu comes in and takes over and plays more minutes than him. The switch doesnt help or hinder the team, and finley is officially useless this season.

Sort of like how duncan is labeled PF just so he can dominate the category.

It’s not against the spirit of the award, it’s the spirit in which the award was founded. The first three awards (one to Bobby Jones and two to Kevin McHale) went to “artificial” sixth men.

That makes no sense. Barbosa was a legitimate 6th man. He wasn't one of his teams 3 best players like Manu is. He wasn't a near All Star, like Manu is, and he was the back up at his position (to Bell).

Well, that was long before my time, so I can't really speak on that too much, but it does seem wrong.

Not sure, I'd have to look at the numbers and put some thought into it. For now Ill go w/ a homer/fill in vote and say LB.

Barbosa averaged more minutes per game last year then Manu is averaging this year. You mentioned something about minutes, so I figured I'd bring that up for comparison's sake.

Oh well I didn't mean directly that X number of minutes should disqualify you. I guess I just meant that Manu is really one of the Spurs best players, and plays more minutes than the guy who starts in front of him. Whereas LB averages about 5 or 6 minutes less per game than Bell.

While that does shine a new light on it, that is due to a consistent 7 man rotation, and Barbosa was a pretty accurate symbolism for the sixth man persona last year, especially late in the regular season. He fit it to a "T" imho.

Kobe's name is already stenciled on the trophy. Voting is done. Media has been dying to give it to him post-Shaq, now they have a legitimate reason to do so.

Even though I think Chris Paul is most deserving and would get my vote.

MVP: Kobe... it is a close vote over Lebron.

Coach of the Year: Phil Jackson... think about this, Kobe demanded a trade in the offseason - how much did that effect the team chemistry? Phil is the man behind the curtain pulling the strings. And yes, I do still hate him.

6th Man: Manu - I agree with Hoover's argument, unfortunately, the rules of the 6th man don't agree with it.

MIP: Amare... and yes, I am serious. Followed by Deron Williams.

ROY: Scola

DPOY: I guess I have to vote Camby, right?
