I am a long time Suns fan and truely think this team will do fine in the playoffs. The first thing everyone for years has been saying the Suns will not win a championship with small ball.... so the Suns go Big... sure it would have been nice to see Memphis call us up and see if we could work a deal out for Gasol... but it didn't happen. The Lakers are a very good team, but still beatable. Our man problem which would be the same with Marion or any other player in this "SYSTEM" is our Defense. This is the biggist problem out there and team are exploting the Suns. Here are the problems I see with our D.

#1 - Double team ANY person with the ball at the top of the key.
a) This pulls the Center/Shaq out on the double with player gaurding the ball
b) The oposing Center rolls straight to the basket for a dunk/layup or
c) The Suns Wing Player/Hill has to roll under the basket to cover the oposing Center, thus leaving his man open for a 3 or mid rang jumper.

#2 - Double team on every post attempt.
a) Again for some reason no matter who it is the Suns will double down
b) Leaving a cutter open to the basket or a spot up shooter wide open or
c) The Guard must move over to the open shooter and then you will see the wave of switching the Suns have to do to try to cover up for the open player.

This is why players have career games with us, if the team moves the ball around to the open player, like the good teams they can score with no problem. And players like Sheed and Jefferson will have huge nights because they just have to roll to the basket when Amare has to cover another player.

This team is full of talent and I feel if we played one on one Def. we can shut down teams, the only week point would be Nash and Barbosa.

just stop double teaming and roaming around to help..

that doesn't solve anything. that would just make all the better players in the league beat us by themselves, which makes our situation even worse.

almost none of that is true. Jefferson didn't beat us because of rolling to the basket. he beat us because he posted us up and got easy buckets. Rasheed wasn't cutting to the basket either. he was nailing every turn around jumper in the book off of post ups. We also don't always double team on the block or on the post, i don't know where that came from. Even if we did, that has nothing to do with our system. The suns major struggle is not only their defense, now the offense is a problem too. we can't score fluidly at all, and we have a great lack of shooters. Nash and barbosa our only week points? LOL. amare can't play one-on-one to save his life, shaq is a crappy defender, and lately bell has been too. Hill is really our only consistent defender.

Amare was killing the Spurs by himself in the 05 playoffs,
but the Suns still lost.

what i'm saying is,
let 1 person beat you and keep the others from contributing.

The way I just watched Dalembert run around Amare, one-on-one, I think I know why the doubles are happening, down low at least.
