7 players just to be safe, top 5 ranked on Cardinal perspective of BPA:

1. Luke Joeckel, OT, by far our greatest prize based on both value & need
2. Chance Warmack, OG, just too dang good to pass up or question his value
3. Demontre Moore, DE - expect him to be that all pro pass rusher for years
4. Dee Milliner - prize DB of draft, with him & Peterson we'd be '09 Jets of NFC
5. Kenny Vaccaro, S - rare star flexible enough to become all pro SS, FS, or CB, and would fit great in our D schemes.

Just don't see us having to go past #5. But just in case:
6. Eric Fisher, OT, - best we can hope for if all others above are taken
7. Jonathan Cooper, OG - best boobie prize if draft is our worst case scenario

I refuse to rank any player with any questionable character or history of injury. Golden Draft Rule - never waste top 10 pick on either.

This is going to be a good offseason.

You and I are two soap box posters, and this offseason more than any other, I am on the complete opposite side of the spectrum on how the Cardinals should attack the offseason. And that is a good thing.

I am currently working on my annual massive offseason preview. Just been so darn busy.

Good lists gentlemen.

I am trying to disregard this player in the draft, because he is a close number 2 to Warmack, IMO.

Milliner, and Peterson would be a formidable force.

Keim will stay true to BPA- Lets see what the combine and vesting determines.

With so many people wanting Warmack I'm convinced the Cards will take Levi Brown.

I find it ironic that so many of the people praising Chance Warmack are the same ones who said Lutui ate his way out of Arizona and are glad he's gone.

It would be perfectly Cardinal though to use a first round draft pick to replace a guy they should have never let go.

Agree about Lutui. I never understood why they didn't play him. Who cares if he weighed 500 lbs? He was still better than Snyder, Colledge, or the guy who played there in 2011( He's so good I can't remember his name).

Great point about lutui. Should have just left him be at RG. Could not have been worse really. If only he hadnot criticized Bruce Springsteen.

I probably missed it, but I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion of Jarvis Jones' stenosis condition.

As I understand it, this condition can suddenly end careers without much warning (i.e. LT Marcus McNeal's career ended abruptly at age 28).

Jones is a huge talent carrying a significant medical risk (if reports are true). Should he be on anyone's Top 7?

I have stenosis....jumbled up pinched nerves in my L2.....it causes spasms, pain, and loss of explosiveness over time....guy may be good for a while but as time goes on he will lose a couple steps .....earlier than age would suggest....there will also be missed games from spasms....he would not be on my first round board if that is true.

I can't put him on any of my 1st round lists. My Golden Rule of 1st round drafting is no questionable character or health issue. Why gamble with a 1st round pick? I could see gambling on a mid to late rounder since all of those seem to be a big gamble anyway.

There has been more discussion on it. And it hasn't been talked about more because it is an overblown issue.

If Jarvis Jones is on the board at 7 we have to take him IMO. And that guy from LSU, is it Mingo, wouldn't be a bad choice either. If we're interested at all in the QB's from NCS or Arkansas, they'll be there in round two.

(Update: 2/21)

1. Luke Joeckel OT, Texas A&M
He is the top tackle in the draft. Enough said.

2. Chance Warmack OG, Alabama
Probably the most likely player to be available at #7. He's a mauler in the run game and will bring a physical presence to our soft OL.

3. Jarvis Jones OLB, Georgia
Highly doubt he will make it past the Browns. If he is available at #7 (and both Joeckel and Warmack are gone), there is no way we can let him slip. He is a true 3-4 OLB and reminds me a lot of Von Miller.

4. Damontre Moore DE/OLB, Texas A&M
Although he is better suited in a 4-3 system, he has shown the ability to perform in a 3-4 system as well. He would be a nice fit in a hybrid multiple front defense, playing as a 3-4 ROLB and 4-3 RE.

5. Dion Jordan OLB, Oregon
6. Eric Fisher OT, Central Michigan
7. Geno Smith QB, West Virginia

I really want Warmack at #7, which means he will be long gone by then.
