First off, I got to meet Jim O and Jim Skane....cool guys....my wife thought Jim O was handsome (grrrrr) :)

Before camp we ran over to Target in town to buy some lawn chairs and I ran into Ray Thompson in the store, said hi and let him finish his shopping. Then coming back from Target I was at a stop light and I was next to Ronald Mckinnon...he was in this really nice Mercedes.

I was very impressed with Cameron Spikes and Kendrick Rodgers. Rogers really got up field quick when they were practicing the screen plays, he was really in shape and was very strong. Spikes was playing at guard and looked in good shape as well. Also, this time it was McCown who looked sharp and Parsons looked rusty.

After practice my wife and I headed over to Maloney's and met a bunch of other Cardinals fans and drank a bunch and came home.

Great time! We came home early though because my mom called and said out puppy was sick....she is fine though

Thanks for the update Ryan!

I'm only going to be able to make it up there for the scrimmage. :(

Hopefully I'll get to see some of you guys!

Just curious Ryan are you sure you had the #s correct because you are the first person out of about 4 that has said this. Everyone else has stated that Parsons was clearly sharper yesterday?

I am positive it was McCown....from what I saw had much better zip on the ball and hit the receivers in stride. Parsons must have had a better showing later....they were practicing long throws after practice but I was busy trying to leave the field to get to my car.

When the QB's first started throwing Parsons was missing receivers on curl routes and his pass had a "duck" on it like many of Jakes.

In my opinion, McCown and Parsons looked about equal yesterday. McCown threw an atomic bomb between two defenders to Gilmore for a 50 yard TD. Parsons made some nice throws through traffic.

They also made some bad throws.

Other things that I remember were interceptions by LeVar Fisher and Renaldo Hill. A thing that made me chuckle was LeVar Fisher forcing Emmitt out of bounds on a sweep for a little gain. He then proceeded to talk some smack to Emmitt. Man...Fish has some guts. (No pun intended) Emmitt just laughed at him and returned to the huddle.

Mike Stone and Bryan Gilmore each made great plays on the same play. Blake threw a deep post to Gilmore who made a great adjustment on the ball but Mike Stone showed some nice speed to recover from Gilmore's adjustment to deflect the ball away. I would guess that the coaches were impressed with both guys on that play.

You gotta love Levar Fisher!

I expect big things from him this year! Thanks for the updates Jim!

Stone made a great play? How come this earth-shattering news wasn't on the cover of ESPN.com? :)

Thanks for the recap. It's nice to hear different perspectives about how camp is going. How are the tight ends? Keep it up!

There's a lot of starting positions wide open and a lot of guys trying to get those positions. This could be one of the most entertaining camps the Cards have had since they've been here. The level of competition should carry through and bring this team to a higher level.

I just keep following you around agreeing with you today! This team seems much better off now than in the past competition wise.

The Cards is the only camp I've ever been to -- but you hear so many stories of other camps, where fans are kept firmly at a distance by men with big radios and sticks, or perhaps not allowed at all.

Where else do you run into players in stores, and watch all you want with nothing but a white line reminding you to stay off the field?

Ian and I were there one year when a very drunk fan challenged Ernest Dye - right in the middle of practice - saying he could tackle him.

Dye just stared at him -- the fan was all of 90 pounds and having trouble standing upright. The rest of us couldn't stop laughing -- more at Ernest's expression than anything else.
