Time to put to rest the myth that somehow Steeler fans are any more loyal, more passionate, etc. than the average fan.
Case in point:
4 minutes to play in the game -- AZ goes up by two TDs. What was the reaction by those all so passionate, terrible towel waving fanatics who travelled to AZ and overpaid for game tickets to see their team in person? They left en masse.
As proof: compare the sound of cheering after the Steelers first score to the utter lack of noise after the Steelers second score. It was so quiet after that second Pitt TD I thought that maybe Santonio dropped the ball. No dropped ball -- just no more Steeler fans left in the building.
Where could they have been going? To catch an earlier flight? I probably could have walked barefoot back to my car over the trail of abandoned yellow towels.
They are no better than any other average NFL fan.
