My initial thoughts of this board

I was hoping to have my ideas welcomed by this board, as new ideas are what challenge our thoughts and improve the discussions. So far, I have noticed an arrogance by those who have thousands of posts. They seem to feel that their thoughts and points of view are somehow more valid due to the fact that they have typed a lot in this arena. I hope that elitist attitude is not shared by all. Comments like "you'll get the hang of this board eventually" only serve to create an environment where the "senior" posters are right and the "newbies" are wrong. Please remember that new posters do not mean new football fans. A little humility and openess to ideas is a good thing in life AND for this board!

Humility is for the weak! I am wrong all the time. I got used to it. I don't think the attitudes here are any worse than anywhere else. I personally haven't read any of your ideas, but I will go see if you were treated unfairly. Senior posters here, for the most part, seem to accept when someone makes a good point.

Don't let it bother you and don't worry about impressing anybody. Trust me , there are some on this board that believe us "seniors" don't know what the helll we sre talking about. But hey, thats what makes the world go round.

And quoting a guy while talking about the cap and NFL finances, not knowing that guy is the most knowledgeable cap guy on the board by far, makes it kind of funny to watch you post.

And comments like the one you posted, talking about how important money is in football and framing it as if nobody here really gets that, well that also shows that you don't know your audience here. That isn't a new idea or anything that anyone needs reminded of.

Unfortunately I do have a life, and just want to occasionally interject an opinion. Apparently some people equate time on the board to overall football knowledge. That is a shame. I guess I'll just get used to arrogant posters, just as there are arrogant people in all walks of life!

For starters, go back and quote me the parts where I questioned YOUR football knowledge.

Then go and find where Joe had any arrogance towards you.

Maybe along your journey you'll run across the point, and come back with a clear head and the knowledge that nobody insulted you, said you had no football knowledge or anything like that. The only thing that was said to you was an encouraging "you'll get the lay of the land soon enough" which means you won't go causing mini flamewars like this by blowing things out of proportion because you misinterpreted a comment.

The POINT is, it was funny that you quoted a guy on the board who is well versed in the cap, and break out with some bargain bin comments about money in the NFL, shows that you do NOT know your audience.

It's nothing like that but when come here and say "what posters don't understand" and then spout off a very basic principle of salary cap management, you will catch grief. It wasn't even that big of a deal until you made it one.
