The problem

Sounds like the wireless network is working.
Sounds like a DNS issue if you can't find yahoo.com. If you get your DNS from your router and it does not have the correct addresses (or has bigger issues) then you may have this problem. The fact that you can't ping it by IP address would further seem to indicate a router problem most likely having to do with the automatic addressing (DHCP) provided from the router.
Sounds like setting a manual address may be in order.
Go to the connection properties then properties for TCP/IP. If it is set for auto (DNCP) then change and manually put in these settings.
Set a manual IP.
Something like 192.168.0.50 (the last numer can change but it should be between 20 and 254)
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1
The DNS addresses are 68.2.16.25 and 68.2.16.30.
Try these settings and let me know how it works.
I tried this with no success, my computer is still connected with an excellent signal yet my internet nor any other online service won't connect. If you don't have any other suggestions, then I guess I'm going to just reinstall my linksys disk as Navyvet suggested. Thanks for your help.
