1- After the combine I was certain that Jake Long would be the pick, but after hearing Ireland yesterday, I've had cause to reconsider. Parcells goes with the surest thing in this year's draft - Chris Long DE Virginia

2- St Louie - With Jake Long on the board this suddenly becomes a very difficult decision for the Rams. When all is said and done it's the man-beast from thee Ohio State University that gets the call, and rightfully so IMO - Vernon Gholston DE/LB Ohio State

3- Atlanta - no better way to start putting the Vick era behind them than by taking the top QB in the draft - M. Ryan QB Boston College

4. Oakland - Unlike the rest of the free world, I don't think McFadden will be the pick here. Instead, the raiders take the top DLineman to team with Tommy Kelly for an immediately imposing dline, proving that Al Davis is in fact growing wiser with age - G. Dorsey DT LSU

5. KC - The Chiefs can't believe their luck. Let the rebuilding begin. - Jake Long OT Michigan

6. Jets - A perfect fit. A big time talent for a big time stage. - D. Mcfadden RB Arkansas

7. NE - Yes, McKelvin is tempting. Very tempting. But in the end, the top LB in this year's draft has to be the pick for those cheatin' Pats - Keith Rivers LB USC

8. Ravens - With Ryan gone, McKelvin is again considered, but OT is higher up in the need dept for this team - R. Clady OT Boise State (okay, wishful thinking on my part)

9. Bengals - If ever a team needed a break, this is it. They get their man - Sedrick Ellis DT USC

10. New Orleans - A monstrous GROAN from Cardinal Land as the Saints prove that they are a franchise to be reckoned with - L. McKelvin CB Troy

11. Bills - With no WR worthy of this pick, and with an eye on fully taking advantage of their prized RB, they jump on the fastest rising Olineman in this year's class - Branden Albert OT/OG Virginia

12. Broncos - With Clady and Albert gone, and Otah and Williams not quite in their class, they settle on the second coming of Al Wilson - J. Mayo LB Tennessee

13. Carolina Panthers - They beg to differ with Denver on how good the kid from Vandy really is - Chris Williams OT Vanderbilt

14. Chicago Bears - Da Bears make 3 of the last four picks Olineman - Jeff Otah OT Pittsburg

15. Lions - They consider DRC more than most would ever know, but in the end they stick with the guy most expect them to take - R. Mendaenhall RB Illinois

16. Cardinals - Tough call for our Cards. Unable to decide, they flip a coin find themselves with a shiny new RB, albeit a slight injured one - J. Stewart RB Oregon.

17. Minnesota Vikings - Losing out on the J. Allen sweepstakes to Tampa Bay, they get their man - Derrick Harvey DE Florida

18. Houston Texans - Suprised to see him still sitting there, they hold back on filling their RB slot and continue to build what will soon become the top defensive unit in the league taking - Dominique Rodgers Cromartie CB Tennessee St.

19. Eagles - They consider DeShaun Jackson, but ultimately decide they need a WR with "bigger shoulders" so as to handle the pressure cooker that is Veterans' Stadiun - Devin Thomas WR Michigan State

20. Tampa Bay - Despite being a bit gun shy because of Cadillac's injury history, they go for the best remaining and possibly most explosive RBin this year's draft - Felix Jones RB Arkansas. Plus, it's always nice to screw Jerry Jones.

21. Washington - Calais Cambell DE Miami.

22. Cowboys - With Jones gone, the Cowboys take Desean Jackson to add some electricity to their offensive arsenal. Good pick by Jones here.

23. Steelers - Life after Alan Faneca begins. Gosder Cherilus OT Boston College

24. Titans - Life after Pac Man begins - Aquib Talib CB Kansas

25. Seahawks - You can never have too many of these guys with talent - Kentwan Balmer DT North Carolina

26. Jacksonville Jags - Lawerence Jackson is going to play at a very high level in this league. So I hear anyway - Lawrence Jackson DE USC

27. *The San Diego Charger trade with Arizona for the Cardinals #2 and #3 picks in this year's draft. With the pick, the Cards select - Mike Jenkins CB South Florida.

28. Cowboys - They love Flowers, but with the recent pick up of Pac Man, they are stocked at the position. They select - Phillip Merling DE Clemsen

29. San Fran - Enough of this Alex Smith charade - Brian Brohm QB Louisville

30. Green Bay - And the Aaron Rogers charade will also soon come to a close - Chad Henne QB Michigan

31. Giants - They think long and hard about taking Kenny Phillips, but in the end can't look away from this kid's upside - Brandon Flowers CB Virgina Tech.

You should clean it up a bit. Try using Bold on the actual pick and some spacing.

I would rather DRC than Stewart, but I wouldn't be terribly upset with either pick, as long as we grab a CB in R2.

It might be more likely that the Cards would use their 2009 first-rounder to get the Chargers' pick. #50 and the 2009 first-rounder would likely be fine.

I'd be interested in seeing that happen, but I'd be surprised if Lawrence Jackson gets taken before Philip Merling.

There is no way the Cards can afford 2 first rounders, sorry. Plus there are some big names after 16. Probably a good thing, because that means AZ gets a really good player. Just MO.

We can easily afford 2 1st rounders. Especially since those first rounder are not even in the top 15. Its the top 5 or even the top 10 draft picks that get the crazy contracts, after they 1st round deals are not all that big. The 2nd and 3rd rounder given up would more then pay for the #28 pick salary wise.

They could. But there is a reason why we waited to the 2nd round and grabbed that first available pick last year, it was to save money.

Good shot at it red desert. Historically, defensive linemen and OTs go early and that's your structure.

Red Desert, just two beefs I had with your mock.

1-No way does Jake Long fall to 5. Not going to happen. Not a chance. imo

2-The Pats WILL NOT TAKE A LB IN THE FIRST ROUND. People keep matching that need up with the Pats, but look at their history. They simply don't draft LBers. I think that, since Bellicheck has been there, the number of LBs drafted even late was small, like one or two total. They like vet LBers, and they just signed one if memory serves.

5. The earliest that they picked one was the 5th round.

The same could be said for the pats and DBs, right? And yet, if they don't take Rivers I do think they'll take McKelvin. And while Rivers is no Urlacher, he does come to the Pats at a time where they are in desperate need of young talent at the lb position, and deep in just about every other area.
