** OC: Mike Miller

** DC: Keith Butler

** Trade: Leinart to Tampa Bay for their 1st round draft pick.

** Trade: Anquan Boldin to Oakland for their 2nd and 3rd rounders and their 3rd in 2010.

** Out of House Free Agent Signings:

1. LB Terrell Suggs--who becomes the James Harrison of the new 3-4 defense.

2. RB Darren Sproles--huge impact on an already explosive offense with his blazing speed and elusiveness.

3. P Shane Lechler--may well be the top punter in the game today.

4. LB Jonathan Vilma--is the inside 3-4 LB the team needs to pair with Gerald Hayes.

5. S Jermaine Phillips--finally a true cover 2 deep safety.

** In House Signings:

1. QB Kurt Warner--MVP candidate in 2009

1. LB Karlos Dansby--who will be the LaMarr Woodley of the new 3-4.

2. QB Brian St. Pierre--"I shall be vindicated!"

3. LB Clark Haggans--good situational player

4. LB Monty Beisel--good backup ILB and ST player

5. G Elton Brown--good, versatile backup

6. FB Terrelle Smith--a feel-good re-signing

7. RB J.J. Arrington--fits the mold and is getting better all the time

** Cardinals' Draft:

1A (from TB): T Michael Oher, Mississippi

1B: NT Fili Maola, USC

2A (from OAK): CB Darius Butler, Connecticut

2B: LB Marcus Freeman, Ohio St.

3A (from OAK): C Antoine Caldwell, Alabama

3B: DT Mitch King, Iowa

4: TE James Casey, Rice

5: QB John Parker Wilson, Alabama

6: WR Brennan Marion, Tulsa

7: S Troy Nolan, Arizona St.

Can we stop with the suggestion for trading Leinart?

I like what Warner did this year but that doesn't take away from the fact that he'll be 38 years old next season, has an injury history, and is/will be considering retirement after every year.

I'd like to have a backup in place Warner gets injured as well as a replacement for him in the future. Praying that someone falls to us in the draft is NOT a plan.

BTW Mitch we have $40 million under the cap so signing every marquee FA isn't a possibilty especially considering all the re-signings will take up the overwhelming majority of our cap space (Warner will cost us around $9-$10 million per year alone)

Mitch has been on the "trade Leinart" bandwagon for months now. Its a horrible idea IMO. If you can keep both Warner and Leinart, you have two quality starting QBs. St. Pierre is an emergency QB at best. Nothing more, nothing less

So , if you sign Sproles then Arrington is expendable. We would need a back to take the role of Edge. Who would that be? If you say Hightower, which I'm okay with, then you need a back to take Hightowers role.
Sproles is not going to step in and carry the ball 25 times a game( if needed). He will never hold up for an entire season.

Dansby AND Suggs? Tha'e more than a pipe dream. Either or is a better posibility.

Trade Leinart, ummm, no.

I haven't studied the draft yet because I feel too many things change during free agency. However, this team needs a pass rush specialist.

Vilma is asscheeks in the 34. He is strictly a 4-3 linebacker.

he definitely likes him...thats for sure

he's a BC guy, and thats fine that he biased for him, but if St. Pierre had ANY talent at all, he would have made something, anything of his career since coming into the league in 02. he just isnt good.

while I completely agree, it seems that many arent privy to his time in the Jets 3-4

Even if we did trade Leinart and Boldin, Boldin has much more value. If we get a late first for Leinart we better get a top 10 pick for Boldin. Leinart has the same injury questions as Boldin, and hasn't proven himself. He isn't getting a first round pick. Stop suggesting he will.

if the offseason goes that way i'd be ecstatic. also, if we get troy nolan i will be so pumped. he's the guy taht could learn behind wilson, and get francisco off the field.

I don't think Nolan will be drafted. He can be had as an UDFA. Plus, Id like to give Keyes a shot @ back up safety

Yup. Mitch is predicting correctly, if Warner signs a 2 year extention. You, TJ, have ostrich head buried in sand.

You know what is funniest about that picture? Look at the tablecloth. It's obviously in his mom's kitchen.

I am not even gonna comment on the free agents, b/c if you were to sign/re-sign all those, no chance you are going to have enough rookie salary money to sign, what 10 draft picks? wow

Are your trying to give your dream scenario or are you trying to be realistic.

** Trade: Leinart to Tampa Bay for their 1st round draft pick.
You honestly think we can get a first for Matt? Reason number why I ask if this is a dream or realistic.

** Trade: Anquan Boldin to Oakland for their 2nd and 3rd rounders and their 3rd in 2010.
You can get a first for Matt but not one for Q? Cards will not and should not take any calls that don’t start with the words, “we are offering a 1st rounder”.

Vilma has already proven to not work in a 3-4 defense, not just one year but in two years in a row. Also reason #2 for me asking if this is a dream or realistic for you. We get not one but three of the best free agents at their respective positions? I ask because that would be a dream scenario for me and would try doing a back flip even though I know I would crack my head open doing it.

1. LB Karlos Dansby--who will be the LaMarr Woodley of the new 3-4.

He isn’t even close to being the type of player as Woodley. Woodley is a great pass rusher where Dansby is just above average. Woodley can take on blocks of OT’s on a regular basis. You are worried with Danbsy even taking on blocks of FB’s.

** Cardinals' Draft:

1A (from TB): T Michael Oher, Mississippi

1B: NT Fili Maola, USC

2A (from OAK): CB Darius Butler, Connecticut

2B: LB Marcus Freeman, Ohio St.

3A (from OAK): C Antoine Caldwell, Alabama

3B: DT Mitch King, Iowa

4: TE James Casey, Rice

5: QB John Parker Wilson, Alabama

6: WR Brennan Marion, Tulsa

7: S Troy Nolan, Arizona St.

I like most of the draft, minus the WR in round 6, but complaining about a 6th or 7th rounder isn’t a winning battle. But doubtful Oher is there @ #19, could happen but doubtful. Also Fili Maola would be a horrible pick to play NT. He is an under 300 pound 1 gap penetrator in the mold of Sedric Ellis and Mike Patterson before him. Plus he was arrested for Punching a cop in 2008 and didn’t have that good of a year because of back spasms so I would even want him even if we were playing a 4-3 Cover 2 D where he would best fit.
