My opinion on what's really happening.

I really think the Cards want Murray, however I believe they are trying to maximize and play their Cards right. I think the Raiders are in the mix to trade up to #1, however I think of all the teams in this years draft they are the only other threat to take Murray in the top 5 (I think Gruden could possibly fall in love with Murray if he hasn't already). So with that being said we would have to know the Raiders are trading up for Bosa if we were to trade back to 4. Once Bosa is off the board the 49ers and Jets would then pick either Quinnen Williams or Josh Allen.... which would leave Murray sitting there for us @ 4. Of all the teams rumored to be looking for a QB the Giants would be the only one I could see trading up to get one (Haskins would be their target not Murray), however if there was a deal in place for Rosen in exchange for the #17 then there would be no real threat for someone to take him higher.

I'm not on the Murray bandwagon, just believe this might be the way it all goes down.

On the flip side if the whole Murray thing is a smoke screen then we trade back to 4 with the Raiders and then trade back again to 6 with the Giants so they can take Haskins. At 6 we take Ed Oliver or Devin White and add a 1st from the Raiders and a 2nd from the Raiders and Giants. I would be more then happy with this scenario as well.

I am all for more picks but I don't believe anyone is trading up for our #1.

I disagree. If the Raiders want an elite pass rusher to replace Mack they will have to trade up to get one of the top 2. I think the 49ers will take Bosa if he's there at #2 and the Jets will follow with Allen at #3... or maybe Gruden wants Murray. :)

I like the idea of trading back a lot, remember the more picks you get the better the chance of actually getting good to great player And no it's not Murray either unless you want to see him carted off the field really early in the season playing behind this O Line

My personal take:

If we dont take Murray at #1 and we swap #1's with any team other than the Niners...... We will lose him.

The Niners will get a crap ton of offers to move back and Murray will be stolen out from under us.

Keim has to know this. Murray will be #1.

Honestly..... Even if we swap with the Niners...... they will probably trade out again just to make sure we dont get him. #MaybeI'mParanoid

I hope that is the case I'm not A Murray Fan at all to me there just isn't enough of a sample to like I'm wanting 2 or 3 years worth of production at the major college level

One I do think that most everyone agrees on is that if Rosen Does Not Show up for next weeks OTA'S then he pretty much will be gone
hes not going to show up whether we are trading him or not. The team will ask him to stay home. if its a smoke screen, it continues it. if its not, we are protecting from injury.

Not really. It is voluntary and I think the first week is weight training.
To me it would signify 3 things 1. Rosen either knows he is going to be traded or 2. There is already a deal in place 3. If does show up Rosen will be the quarterback back for 2019 which IMHO should be happening

So, you think if we are keeping him, we would let the entire jenga fall before the draft by having him come in for weight training?

whats a bad idea?

Having him come in and possibly get injured to make it look like we aren't trading him?

Or having him come in so show our hand that we are not in the market for a QB?

Neither scenario benefits the game we are playing in the draft.

This makes total sense.
tempting to make a thread about it to try and slow down the april 8th meltdown thatll happen around here. He is NOT going to report regardless of what is really happening. It would ruin all of the last 2 months work. If we want to keep him and this is all smoke, he can get access to a playbook. Doesn't need to be at the first two weeks of camp. After that, the draft is over and its go time.

Lol!!! There is no stopping it! It’s like waiting for Mt. Saint Helen to erupt. We know it’s going to happen just not sure exactly when!

Oh I do but really dont like it one bit

You don't like bluffing to maximize value? You don't like the idea of getting lots of picks for one? every team in the top 6 is worried what we will do. Teams who want bosa are worried. teams that want Williams are worried. teams that want murray are worried. They are all worried that we could take their player. This is what you want.

I like what you got to say, but I don't think you're reading the tea leaves...

New HC almost always gets his QB...and KK is more in love with Murray than I was with my first love in High School.

For the offense Oklahoma runs, he would simply tear it up for another two years and you would still have no idea how he would transfer to a pro... after his stellar year, how much of a drop off could he have playing multiple years in the Big Twelve, see :)
