Mykel Williams is the toughest one for me. People who get paid to evaluate draft prospects insist the bend and burst are there. I have never seen it. When I compare Williams and Stewart, Williams looks like a significantly more linear athlete than Stewart.

Also, I think the Cardinals may have to trade up for Grant if they want him. Any OG at 16 is a waste IMO.

There is a rumor that some anonymous personnel guy have said that Pearce have the “worst character report” of any player in this draft. Who knows if it is true, but teams obviously know a lot more than us fans. He is supposedly close to uncoachable.
I remember years ago, my BIL told me Danielle Hunter was about the worst interview he had ever been part of. He has turned out pretty well. But it might also be the reason he dropped to the 3rd round. IIRC, he was considered a 1st round talent.

Lack of production was a huge red flag for Hunter who as a RS Soph. 4.5 sacks for his career at LSU. 1.5 his last year.

You have to go back to 2023, for the reasons I mentioned. I would recommend the games against Florida State and South Carolina, for example.

He's no Ezeiruaku or Umanmielen when it comes to bend, by the way. Just so you don't expect to see that. :)

Because that is just what it cost in free agency. It's not mine or your money, so don't focus on that.
Of course it isn't, but if those roles could be filled by the Roy Lopez types, you'd have more money to add better players vs. flushing 20M.

For every Danielle Hunter there is a Robert Nkemdiche. I just think that Ossenfort will stay away, and frankly, I would too. There are many other good edge rushers to choose between.

Doesn’t turn 21 until June. Also a high character guy from the sounds of it.

When Gannon was with the Eagles during their Super Bowl run in 2022, only two of the six most used DTs on that defensive line had a higher base salary than Nichols and Jones.

I remember him being projected #1 overall in a preseason mock. He just never broke out as expected. Still young.
He never broke out because he was injured. He estimate himself that he played at 60% all season, yet he still played, which shows about his character. He is supposedly a great guy. Also, many times he was playing a little out of position, almost as a defensive tackle, so it wan't that often that he got to just go after the quarterback. I think that his potential is enormous.

Check the Mic just mocked Shemar Stewart to us at #16.

They are aware of the Trevon Walker comp.

He is as athletically gifted.

The lack of pass-rush production is concerning.

He is a much better overall football player than Walker (beast in the run game)

This is the 16th pick, not the #1 overall where you take him over Hutchinson

The floor is much higher and you should get a average starter at a minimum - the ceiling of getting an Elite pass-rusher is the question
