Oh Canada!
Someone in another post asked what do we do if Smith is avg. 3.8 and Shipp is avg. 4.6. yards per carry. I say we thank god for that kind of production from 2 backs! Look this is a good situation. We need a good goto wideout. I think we have couple of down field guys already. Balke will also spread the D! if you look at Blakes numbers last year and then look at his recievers. He didn't exactly have a great wideout either. He had a great TE in Heap. Maybe he'll be able to use F.Jones more effectively! Do you think we could deal Tommy "my phone is ringing "Jones for a wideout? This already has been the most active offseason for the crads in years! And the best part is they are not done yet! :D :D So lets be happy for now and hopefully happier yet when camp opens in Aug!

First off: NO ONE WILL TAKE THOMAS JONES, I REPEAT, NO WILL TAKE THOMAS JONES! :D

Secondly: Good point about Blake possibly getting Freddie involved. I thought about that when we signed him, but recently it slipped my mind (a lot of school work at ASU!) :D

I am torn on thomas jones...big decision for me on this one between..

1. I would like to see us make him drag his sorry ass up to training camp...make him play in the last 5 minutes in the preseason games (2 of which will be in extreme heat)..put him down for like 5th on the depth chart..and then make him a final roster cut so that it will be harder for him to hook up with another team...
or
2. but then again..with his piss poor attitude..we may as well cut him now and be done with it..would not want him making any converts on the team..

I'd like to see him play the entire second half of every pre-season game so Shipp and Emmitt stay healthy.....running behind that second team OL.

buckeye cardinal..but that would take precious playing time away from scobey and anderson for the battle of 3rd running back..I have a better idea..make thomas play special teams only in the 2nd half of the preseason games..that would make him real happy!

There are no cap implications. This is TJ's last year so his pro-rated signing bonus costs us the same with him on or off the team. His salary is $500,000 which really isnt that much, which is why I am amazed that so many people say he will be cut. Why cut a back that you know while not being great is a decent backup and is only costing you $500,000???

If you cant trade him, keep him as the 3rd back.

I totally agree! at worst he sits and rots whichj is what the lieing bastard deserves.
P.S. Coach should give him a cell phone to carry through pactice! And then call him every so often just to make sure he's got he's answer technic back for the season!

I'm with Pinnacle on this TJ thing. I'd love to trade him to Houston to switch picks, so we get Suggs before Chicago or Dallas. If that won't work, keep him, he's cheap, and we'll need him for that entire preseason game at the Metrodome.

According to Jurecki this morning, the Cards talked trade with an undisclosed NFL team involving Jones. It didn't work out, but the implications are that the Cards are working on something.
