Not sure it’s the OL as much as it’s Murray running it himself more the last couple of weeks. If Murray stays in pocket, pressure is getting to him, he’s just bailing out his OL. Humphries seems like a penalty machine but surprisingly is just averaging one per game. I would rather have a cheaper upgrade in Andrew Thomas. I agree we need an upgrade at C and RT.
Agreed. It feels like he is telling the guys up front not to hold and get out of old habits because of his scrambling ability. Just a gut feeling I've had over the past few weeks.. this same line last year would have committed atrocious holds that would be drive killers in recent years and they are now able to focus more and relax with their technique because of his mobility. Just what I'm seeing so far

Wow, you think Humphries is worth $12M - $15M a year? He will be looking for Trent Brown money and he is not worth it IMO.

LT in 2020 draft:
Andrew Thomas
Trey Adams
Alaric Jackson
Austin Jackson (sleeper pick)

ARZ could trade up to get Thomas if need be but of their remaining 9 games only CLE & TB look like possible W's. If we end up with 5 wins then I don't think we would be that far out of Thomas range. If we can't get Thomas in Round 1 maybe ARZ can take Austin Jackson in Round 2. I would rather use the FA money it would take Humphries to land a pass rusher than pay for a mediocre LT with his injury history and propensity for penalties (tied for 3rd in penalties among OT's this year.)
How did it go for us when we let Bobby Massie go and then tried to draft his replacement. The market is the market...pay it or roll the dice.

Was Bobby Massie a loss? Granted he was a 3 year starter at RT but I wouldn't say ARZ is losing sleep over him. But my answer to your question is Steve Keim being in charge and his blatant neglect in addressing areas of need such as OL over the years. If he somehow survives the hot seat this year maybe he gets his **** together and competently addresses OL and other areas of need.

RT has been a dumpster fire the last three years. Yes it was a loss.
If a team learns how to draft based on what fits their needs then they can lose an average tackle who wants above average money.. this is how the Patriots do it. The common denominator is keim and Kingsbury now. Bask was an obvious disaster in that area.

MAssie signed for 5 mil per year...and we aren't the Patriots.

Massie has been an above average starting RT in the NFL.

How have his replacements played....I'll wait to hear how they have been upgrades.

That was kinda the point. Nothing wrong with trying to emulate the way successful franchises do things..

Massie is better than 90% of the lineman that Keim has brought in since he left. And I think that's being conservative. Probably better than all.

The Patriots tend to keep fringe starters at value deals which is what Massie turned out to be.
