Oh Canada!
My sort of weird take on the Suggs thing is that The Cards saw something they didn't like or they didn't see something they were looking for. Now they could have still taken him and it would have been a huge positive marketing thing but if he ended up abust they were dead in the water. So the other opition is take someone else at 6 which would have put them in hot water again with fans who wanted Suggs, Not to mention the pressure on the taken player who would have known Cards fans wanted Suggs. So graves does the only thing he can do. make a trade and basically ending the Suggs debate,( a pu$$y move in my opinon) So now he is hoping that Mcdougle is still around at #17. But Philly jumps the gun and steals him now the Cards are dead b/c they need to address the d-line problem and the Wr problem . they always wanted johnson, b/c he's got boston like size and potential but they shot them self in the foot in the deal and now they don't want to run the risk of him not being there at #54 so they have to take him early. But then they had to get a d-line men and the they like this kid who's climbing the charts from Wake forest. once again they can't chance him being gone at #54 so they reach at #18. So basically it wasn't the #6 for #17 and #18 that hurt the Cards it was the # 37 for #54 that put the gun to there head. they couldn't afford to wait and see if either Pace or johnson would be around at #54. I think that Graves should have thought about this before the trade.
