Houston: Bush
New Orleans: Leinart
Tennessee: Cutler
NY Jets: Ferguson
Green Bay: Hawk
San Francisco: V. Davis
Oakland: Young
Buffalo: M. Williams
Detroit: Huff

Assuming that is the way the first 9 picks shake out, what do you do??

Stay pat at #10 and pick your BPA??

Reach for a need and take a OLineman.

Trade down with another team for more picks??

Justice, Ngata, Greenway, trade down.

Still plenty of options.

I'd personally take Jimmy Williams at this point. It looks like we are looking for an upgrade in the secondary, and I think he'd fit in. Big, strong and fast. Would be able to Bump N Run. That is kind of what Allen was like and we were taking a look at him. Him and Rolle might be the most physical CB combo in the league.

I also like Tamba Hali.....I'm a PSU fan....but I don't know at 10.

As for the other options....there are a lot of good lineman that will slip to round 2. I just don't think I'd take Justice over a defensive stud.

As for trading down.....if I was guaranteed of getting Carpenter/Greenway/Sims and M. Lewis I'd be very tempted. I just have a bad memory of thinking..."OK we traded out of Suggs....we'll still get McDougle and another pick."

You still have Ngata there - take the Mountain.

LenDale - Groom him in. Goal line back. Good to go in 2 yrs. Excellent Insurance policy.

Justice - He's definately only a yr. away from starting every day. If that.

Greenway - A big WSLB to groom alongside Dansby and Hayes.

Tye Hill - He's jumping up a few boards. A fast, fast CB.

Ngata seems the obvious choice at this point.

Ngata or Justice. I don't think Justice is much of a reach at 10...he's a top 15 pick as it stands, IMO.

Ngata would be a no brainer. We would have an awesome defensive line with Dockett, Clancy and Ngata rotating at DT.

I'd take BPA - which would be Winston Justice IMO.

Does anyone think Marcedes Lewis will be there in the 2nd round?

Maybe early in the round......I wouldn't gamble at #41 though. Bengals and Bears could both take a TE late in the first round. If SF doesn't draft Davis, I can see them taking a TE in the 2nd round. They need a WR, but unless C. Jackson or Moss drop to them, the TEs are better.

I think the DE Mario Edwards would be next. People have compared him to Julius Peppers.
Not saying we would draft him but SOMEBODY would be willing to trade up at that point.

ernie sims

we need a lb beside dansby that can really trurly make a difference. And i think another florida state guy will be good for team chemistry.
Ernie Sims will be in the running for defensive ROY.

Try to trade down.

Leading candidate - The 2 Denver picks at #22 and #29. (The value points work out pretty close).

But, if you accept the proposition that they're as many good players in Round 2 as there are in the second half of Round One, we could try to drop down to a team around #20 and also get their #52 pick in the second round.

That would hypothetically give us a #20, #42, #52 and our #71

Keeping in mind DG's Best Player philospophy - I'd still hope to use those picks on a quality O-lineman and 3 of the following five positions: LB, S, TE, QB, NT. I'd try to fill the final position-hole with our (approx)#103 pick.

I usually use the War Room draft board as an objective (though not always accurate) predictor of draft value, but in the absence of that, my ideal draft would probably be: 20. Jean-Gilles, 42. Pope, 52. Bullocks, 71. Dvoracek, 103. R McNeal, Olsen or Schockley (I don't think any LB's I like will be around where we pick in round 4.

when you are picking as high as the cardinals are then you need to be sure of a player ability. know that he going to be succesful in this league. with that in mind i would trade down and get some more draft picks.

I agree Jeff this would make the most sense if the Broncos would trade up. We could get several quality players. The signing of Clancy really made this a possibility as we do not have to take Nagata at 10.

Dang it... 'reaching for an o-linemen' is what I would not do!!

Stand pat is prefered followed by trade down.

Not me. I reach and take Jonathan Scott T from Texas. Texas bookends BIG at LT and Scott at RT.
