Any young receiver on the Cards (or the league for that matter) who isn't wise enough (or mature enough) to see the behavior, traits, and mindset of a pro who has done it well for a very long time and doesn't start to heist some of those traits and work habits for himself is an idiot...

AJ Brown ran about two routes at Ole Miss too. Same for Damarkus Lodge. Ole Miss' OC is awful. AJ Brown legit rarely faced pressed man in the slot, too. When he did, he struggled mightly.

Yep. The lack catches by Metcalf is more of an indictment of the Ole Miss offense than anything else.

I think there are going to be plenty of good big bodied wide receivers available in the draft.

Deebo Samuels really solidified his place, IMO. Love to see him taken at #33.

I agree, but this doesn’t have much to do with Fitz being a “mentor”.

I can only speak for my experience WRT mentorship, but there are many ways to mentor...

In my 28 year career, I have had 5 mentors, the most effective - the one who unquestionably shaped my exceptionally successful career the most, had the LEAST verbal communication and interaction with.

-He always set a sterling example.

-Priorities aligned with values.

-When I did mess up -which he gave me ample latitude to do so- he broke down the issue and helped me discover the root cause and asked the questions that would always lead me to the solution.

I have always followed the example that he set and it has served me well...I mimic the same interface with my proteges and they have been equally successful.

Chad Williams has an excellent opportunity to sit at the feet of the master, he has to choose to pop a squat and open his eyes and ears.
