i baked up some nachos lasta week - put 2 jalapenos and 1 habanero into the food chopper, cooked them up in a bit of oil and then browned the meat over them with some additional seasoning

created two layers of chips, meat and cheese - let the cheese melt and bake it all together

then topped with salsa, sour cream and lettuce

good times

dunno - i think it helps balance out the potential tongue burn

I will go for nacho cheese sauce if I have a bad of chips and want to dip them - that works for a quick snack

as for fries - whiz all the way

in philly i used to get provolone on my steaks - but ended up converting to a whiz guy there as well

cheese sauce, if done right, can be excellent

I agree with the cooling factor as justification for lettuce. Your comments on cheese whiz and sauce are well put.

Hmmm...I wonder if I should make some schutd chili for the next tailgate (nachos!), and then let everyone drown it in cheese sauce just for spite...

;)

Go ahead, cut off that nose! By the way, I like cheese sauce on nachos too. I just wont buy the stuff, so when I get then nacho crave, I shred cheddar and throw it in the broiler. The chips get browned the cheese burns a little, Mmmmmmmm.

Threw stale chips on a plate, slice up some melty quesadilla cheese (Mexican brand), put some hot sauce on it, and threw it in the microwave.

Zapped it just long enough. Very good.

We did do nachos at the most recent tailgate...did we discuss that on here? I seem to think someone mentioned it--probably abomb...anyway, it was pretty darn good. Satisfied my nacho craving for awhile.
