Juan Miranda (who had a .213 batting average and 7 homeruns in 65 games with the D'backs this year) is most likely to be brought back from the Minors as lefty fly ball pinch hitter as well as backup 1B for the rest of this season, giving Goldie a rest against some tough righty pitchers.

The Guv'nor talked on radio tonight about how Goldie sought out the Manager and Coaches about a program to help him learn to deal with Major League curveballs.

He did a great job of fouling off two in a row before hitting a fastball for the 9th inning 2-out 2 strike game tying HR yesterday.

With his great attitude for a rookie, I don't think Gibby is going to feel compelled to force playing time at 1B for Miranda. Hopefully, just use him as a necessary backup.

I just heard that the Dbacks signed former Dback Lyle Overbay and put Nady on the 15 day DL.

Lyle could play against the tough righties and come in and play defense late in games. Nady will be out 4-6 weeks.
