Derrick Johnson LB KC- Yes he is restricted but he only started three games last year and was in the dog house for Pendy. This guy has alot of talent and could turn around his career and be a probowler. He's young (27) and in his prime. Guys like Brackett and Morrison and Demeco Ryans are not going to be there either for the money we will want to spend or their team will tag them.

I think he'd be a great pick up especially if the Chiefs give him a low tender. Played very much like Dansby when he was at Texas and I think he has been suffering from "crummy team" syndrome like a lot of our former top draft picks did in Arizona.

Change Karlos Dansby to Derrick Johnson on my list.

1) Ryan Pickett - price could be reasonable for a decent NT
2) Mark Bulger - not a FA "yet" decent backup for Matt if price is right.
3) Not sure but a decent OLman if available. Always need this.

I have a good friend who is a big Packers-fan. He told me the other day that Pickett is one of their main priorities in the offseason. They love his play in their new system and obviously think he is tremendous value alongside B.J. Raji.
Fred Robbins might be the reasonable solution.

If Joey Porter is brought in, I would be perfectly fine by using an earlier draftpick on O'Brien Schofield than I otherwise would. With Porter, Haggans and maybe even Okeafor, backed up by Cody Brown, Will Davis and Mark Washington, I would have no problem with giving up maybe a fifth round pick on a player with such high upsides as Schofield, even though he would have to sit out his entire rookie year.

Excellent points, I agree with all of them, Gandhi.

My four, sue me:

ILB Larry Foote - Veteran stop gap whom Whiz & Co are familiar with from their PIT days.

NT Ryan Pickett - Will plug that middle on running downs

CB Dunta Robinson - Best non-RFA CB on the market. Still young and could come cheap after down year.

QB Chad Pennington - Insurance just in case Matty does down.

Big BQ!
1.Vince Wilfork NT- we need a presence to ease the pain on Dansby and CC.. I'm not sold on Pickett.
2.Dunta Robinson CB- if healthy, the man balls.
3.Keith Bulluck OLB- great locker room presence/game day presence for younger guys
4.Alge Crumpler TE- Don't know about the health of any of these guys but if healthy, a serious upgrade.

I'm on board with all of these, overseas. This would be a coup. I do think, however, that Robinson will not come cheap.

You could be right based on the fact that all other decent CB's are RFA's and more than likely will stay with their current teams. Hopefully he just wants to be a Cardinal and will take a reasonable offer.

Crumpler is a shell of his former self. He has gone from a Pro Bowl dual threat to a one-dimensional blocking TE. Ill give him credit that he has played behind Bo Scaife for a couple of years, but when Bo went down with an injury, he was not a very effective replacement. He is talented, but I don't see how he is an upgrade over a much younger Patrick or a high round draft pick, such as Gronkowski. Money should be allocated to other positions, especially the defense. Your other 3 recommendations are spot on though!

Didn't he also gain a boat load of weight? I remember watching him play for Tennessee thinking "by gawd did Alge just eat a horse?"

I think that Wilfork and D Robinson are looking to get some big money, and therefore I doubt they come cheap. My choices are:

Justin Bannan NT
Larry Foote ILB
Brandon Manumaleuna FB (Inspired by Joe)
Jeff Reed K

Some depth guys, and role players. Bannan has experience at NT for the Ravens and can provide us with solid depth. Foote knows the system and can teach it too our younger linebackers. Manumaleuna gives us a freight train to clear out for Wells/Hightower. Finally, Jeff Reed provides us with a clutch kicker who will love kicking indoors.

They have him listed at 262, but he checked in to camp last season at over 310. I would say he is hovering around 285 to 290 depending on what he ate for dinner.
