Does anyone happen to know what the longest streak of free throws is to start a season? Nash must be getting close . . . .

I think on one of the Suns broadcasts they said that nash made his last 20-25 fts to end last season too so if you include that then he's on a 50+ made ft streak.

Most consecutive free throws made
97-Micheal Williams, Minnesota, March 24-November 9, 1993

...long way to go for Steve. ;)

Don't know the record starting into the season though.

He could try to beat that record:

Highest free-throw percentage, season (qualifiers)
.958 -Calvin Murphy, Houston, 1980-81 (206/215)

Wow, Im surprised it wasn't Rick Barry. I believe he owns the career FT percentage record.

EDIT: Oh wow, Nash and Mark Price are ahead of him...who knew.

Name FTP
1 Mark Price .9039
2 Steve Nash .8965
3 Rick Barry* .8931
4 Peja Stojakovic.8922
5 Calvin Murphy*.8916
6 Scott Skiles .8891
7 Ray Allen.8878
8 Reggie Miller.8877
9 Larry Bird* .8857
10 Bill Sharman*.8831

Wow, nice list. Funny to see so many names of current, or recently retired players on that list of mostly HoFers. Reggie, Skiles, Peja, Allen, Nash. Do you think Reggie gets in?

If he misses a FT in wednesdays game you should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Is there a way to e-knock on e-wood?

If my math is right, Nash would be ahead of Price (and first all time) if he had sunk just 12 more of his 2213 career FT attempts. That sounds incredibly close until you realize that he only missed 25 out of 247 attempts for all of last season. The margin for error is miniscule.

Even more amazing to me is that his 3-point shooting is above 52% (33 of 63) this season -- good for 5th (behind guys with fewer attempts). Also first in assists (and turnovers). And this is odd -- for a pass-first guard, he's 23rd in the league this year in points per 48 minutes, which means he would be the leading scorer on a number of teams.

I'm surprised that this isn't mentioned more often, but Nash is first in the league in career three-point accuracy among active players with at least 1000 attempts. Care to guess who is second?

Barbosa. Nash is at .428 and Barbosa is at .416. Next are Gordon, Korver, and Bell at .410.

It'd be nice if Tom Leander would stop pointing out Nash's streak EVERY SINGLE TIME Nash goes to the line. Talk about jinx.

What jinx? Everytime he mentions it Nash makes the shot, it should be a ritual now.

Active huh? Dunno . Doesn't Steve Kerr hold the record all-time?
