I hope the Suns can trade Nash for a sizable trade exception so that they can continue stockpiling flexibility.

Yeah, flexibility can go off for 40 pts a game, and plays great D.

Flexibility only has value if you know what to do with it.

I'd like the Suns to use their cap space to acquire future picks.

Posted by someone on a different message board...what do you guys think?

Can't believe you're quoting Kerrsed from RealGM. :D

The question is if you would be open to signing Chalmers as an FA to a $4M? Or would you rather have Aaron Brooks for $3M-$4M?

I would rather have Chalmers any day than Brooks.

Brooks is a locker room cancer, small, can't play defense, can't pass and will likely cost more.

Houston's trying to get 2 top ten picks to finish up a trade package to offer Orlando for Dwight...

Toronto, along with Sacramento are the two reams rumored to be talking with Houston.

And now I'm starting to hear....

Tim Chisholm: Another angle for Raps fans concerned about Nash: a Lowry trade gives Raps a young PG to offer to PHO in an s&t. via Twitter*

Interesting....... Lowry/#14 for Calderon/#8, then S&T Lowry for a S&T Nash?

Trade Nash for a young PG while retaining our #13?

Sounds good. Draft Moultrie and we can run Lowry-FA/Crawford(?)-Dudley-Moultrie-Gortat.

Not a bad core (Crawford being only a stopgap, not a core piece)....

I think I would rather have Dragic. But getting a young pg for Nash is a good get regardless.

I agree that getting a young, talented PG for Nash would be good. However, we do not agree about Dragic. His poor play in 2011-12 season when the Suns were trying to make a playoff run still sours me. I sometimes wonder if his poor play was an effort by him to force his way out of Phoenix. If so, I do not want him back.

Why would Toronto trade for Lowry to sign and trade him for Nash when they have the capspace to sign Nash simply.

Just to dump Calderon to sign someone else?

OK. So Nash to Toronto in a S&T for Lowry. Draft Waiters at #13. Buy Orlando's #19 pick and get PJ3, if he's not available White or Sullinger. I am assuming we can keep Brown and Redd for basically the minimum. Not sure about retaining Lopez. Frye could back up both pf and c if Lopez is gone.

Lowry, Telfair
Waiters, Brown, Redd
PJ3, Dudley
Markieff, Frye, Warrick
Gortat, Lopez

Hmm. That team just got younger and a lot more interesting and there is still room for a really decent FA.

Because they retain that capspace to get someone else. If they dump Calderon (amnesty him) they still have to pay him. He is easily tradeable in this situation. In the end, they are better off financially than if they amnesty Calderon and sign Nash outright.

Funny, its a scenario where everyone wins. Houston gets picks. Toronto gets Nash. Phoenix get a young pg.

IMO, it happens only if Nash wants it to happen this way and Toronto wants to send Phoenix some good will. They did try to work a trade for Pietrus. I'm not sure the Suns would get Lowry in this scenario but it would be sweet. More likely the Suns get Calderon. I'd like to get Toronto's #8 pick somehow and there were rumors early on that they were willing to part with it.
