Before you group everyone who has criticized Nash at such a crucial time within a crucial time frame with our backs to the wall to a crucial team that we always lose to....be aware that getting upset over a PG that is suppose to help lead his team to victory instead of joining in the fray of bumbling...isn't going to leave a sweet taste in everyone's mouth.

I for one, respect what he's done, and what he has done for the Suns. But, you cannot take this as an excuse to his poor performance when it mattered the most and it gets passed by because he was a two time MVP and such a favorable player. There isn't going to be much people, even after this game who will not forget what he's done for this game, but keep in mind.....that is exactly the point. He's placed the bar up so high, only to crawl under it this season and this late in the playoffs elimination game.....
We expected a lot more from him at such a crucial time. Even his past glory and how much respect is aimed for the man will not eliminate the nasty 4th quarter turn-overs he had that cost us a victory and beyond that.

Nash didn't have one bad quarter. He had one bad season. The worst part about his terrible 4th quarter last night was that I wasn't surprised at all. He's been doing that all year, it started with the blowout loss to LA.

Look at his stats, they were better almost across the board than his MVP years. He didn't have a bad season. Look it up.

Nash's stats are fine. Do you have a stat for turnovers during crucial possessions? That number has also gone up since previous years.

Have you looked at the entire team? It wasn't just Nash making bad decisions in crucial situations all year. It was the entire team. I remember Amare making a ton of bad decisions down stretches. I remember Marion, Bell and Barbs doing the same.

This was more of a "team" problem then Nash's. Nash had a great year despite the TEAMS problems with turnovers.

Im convinced that Nash had some nagging injuries which slowed him down, along with his age. He's a tropper, I hope hes still here next season (along with a suitable back up)

He had the worst mistakes last night... no doubt, those rush 3 point attempts, the turn overs etc.

To be honest, it just looks like he is worn out... watching the younger point guards, they tend to not "irk" you when they do risky passes... but the last 2 seasons, especially this season, Nash has shown "age"... still a star point guard, but I think the wear and tear has caught up.

I'd lower his minutes to 30 mins next season, even rest him back to back games second half of season. Which means, Suns need to trade for a REAL back up point, or draft one.... and a swing man defender who can spell Bell also.... both are in there 30s running like 20 year olds in D'Antoni's system...

I'm one that thought Nash had a bad game in Game 5, and I feel that the blame for the loss is partially on him. That being said, I still feel he's one of the best point guards in the NBA.

The star players are always going to take the blame first. Whenever the Lakers lose, Kobe didn't do enough, whenever the Spurs lose, it's on Duncan, or Lebron, or Chris Paul, etc etc. It's part of the game, and while not always fair, it's just the way it is.

A few bad games however, don't change the fact that Nash is an incredible player. For those that want to blame him for losing the series, heres a news flash..

Without Nash, the Suns wouldn't have made the playoffs to begin with.

Every player deserves equal blame. However, D'Antoni deserves the most since he didn't ride the guys dogging it all year long (Diaw, Amare, Shawn, LB, and yes, Nash). Have you ever seen Popp scream at Duncan/Parker/Manu? I have. I have never seen him scream at his stars when they screw up royally. That is not to say screaming is a great idea - but it is about accountability. He doesn't hold them accountable... it seems.

unlike choke artest dirk who lead the team first #1 rated team to fall in the first round in a best of 7. and then followed with another early exit this year.

Dirk took his blame for his short comings like a leader is supposed to, he actually took it in excess. And anyone who watched the Hornets series can tell you that the only two players to show up were Dirk & Bass.

Where is the media bashing of Nashy boy right now, did he exceed his season numbers in the series? Dirk did.

Steve Nash cant get a call on a grab at the shoulder coming around a screen when dribble penetrating with 1minute left in a close game. No one ever fouls him, he is rendered a useless piece. I am a nash fan, but he just doesnt get calls, almost never. The "steal by horry" with 1+ minute left was a grab at the shoulder by parker as he was screened, causing separation from the ball and them the "steal". Steve Nash is run down, he has the worst backup PG in the NBA of any contender, the suns bench sucks. Who is responsible for these shortcomings? Who is responsible for KT getting 12 boards last night? The whole team is responsible from top management all the way down to a crappy bench that didnt produce squat. The problem with blowing the whole team up is that the top management remains, and the head of the fish is rotten. Hello Dbacks, screw the NBA, and their hypocritical, subjective, incoherent management of what was an excellent sport, has destroyed professional basketball for me.

Nash looked old sadly. I couldn't be a bigger fan of Nash, but some of those plays in the 4th were just horrible. His turnovers killed us. He took some very ill advised shots too that just made me wonder what he was thinking.

I agree! He is one of the best point guards in the NBA. Why in the H... they changed horses in midstream (Shaq for Marion) is beyond comprehension. Marion would have come around. His presence was really missed in these finals. He can't be more satisfied where he is now. The Heat are really unstable. We should have never traded him OR Kurt Thomas.

Dude, that's the Efed up thing about Marion. . . I think he is totally fine with where he is at now. While guys like Nash, Amare, Dirk, KG, etc. actually WANT to win. It's sad.

fair enough....they've both choked plenty. if you want to be real.
this is why cuban didn't feel like he needed to match phoenix's offer. not because nash wasn't or still isn't great. but because he never got the mavs over the hump and I think cuban felt like his age would show. cuban probably was wrong because the mavs could of used nash further, but nash still hasn't got beyond what he did in dallas.

the star player is always going to take the blame....and nash should be no different. he and amare. but in reality I've never put stock into that. this is a team game. when dallas got beat this year and last.....no one else not named dirk played with any level of consistency in terms of playing good bball. but dirk gets the blame and that's how it goes. I think dirk has proven his value to the mavs and has only improved his game since nash's departure. the fact that dallas made it farther than ever without nash and nash hasn't got it done in phoenix makes it tough to wonder what would have happened if nash stayed in dallas. I think dirk still would have taken it to another level, but one has to wonder to what extent that level would be?

Nash can't get a call against the SPurs and Floppy or Parker can just fall down with no one around and go to the line. The officiating in this league is a joke and it is especially noticable when these two teams go head to head. Its a flat out joke Amare gets hacked to calls, Steve gets slapped all night long no calls, the Spurs big 3 get calls whether they are touched or not, kinda hard to beat them when games are called that way. The end of last nights game was a perfect example were winning then bam a few calls to help the Sterns and what do you know season over!!

I feel for mavs fans, both cuban and sarver are idiots that are way over their heads and dont know it. Lets be serious Dampier was a terrible value, much worse than nash. Getting rid of Harris, a great defensive PG, and then getting buzz sawed by CP3 is just as bad as watching KT destroy you on the boards after dumping him. Sarver and cuban are both arrogant enough to think they had nothing to do with their teams misfortunes. There will be plenty of downtime for fans of both teams, plenty of watching other teams compete for the NBA title in the coming years.
