We need a series win here

Yes they do. Even though its early in the season still, but this is a huge series for the Dbacks. The way the Dodgers are playing, can't afford to fall back even more

Would a 10 run come from behind be the biggest in DBacks history? Well we have 8 innings to try,
How sad is that

Mattboy, I feel sorry for you buddy, choose the wrong game to go to!! Must be brutal sitting thru the first 2 innings so far

Yikes. I have to say, I wasn't expecting a win for the Dbacks going into the game. I will admit that I was excited to see Max Scherzer throw in person. I had hoped that Collmenter's arm angle would throw off the Nats but they squared up everything that he threw.

Even though it was a blowout, I have never had a bad time at a baseball game.

One question I have, what happened to Goldschmidt? I thought he started but when the lineup went through a second time, I noticed Pacheco was playing first.

I know it likely wuldn't have changed the game, but what a horrible call to end the game.

Is that not reviewable?

They decided to give Goldy some rest - they saw the writing on the wall after 2 innings. Also took Hill out at the same time.

I missed it - what happened?

Chris Owings hit the ball and it bounced and came back and hit him before he had a chance to even move either foot. He had just started to move and was leaning toward first, but on the replay he had not picked either foot up so he was still completely in the batter's box. By rule if the batted ball hits the batter and he is still in the box it is a foul ball. The ump called him out. Our manager went out to argue and brought the other officials into the discussion but it was not looked at again or over-ruled. Terrible call. Glad it diodn't happen in a closer game.

If a batter is hit by a batted ball while in the batter's box immediately after an attempted hit, it is a foul ball. Though subject to umpire's discretion, it is foul whether it hits the batter on the fly or on a bounce.

Ok - thanks. I wonder if Chip would have raised a bigger stink in a close game.

I'm sure. Bet everyone just wanted to get that game over with and look forward to the next day
