Now they need to draft Jared Zabransky out of Boise to be our 3rd string QB/back-up Strong Safety.

Good luck, John, wherever you wind up in this crazy, mixed-up world.

To the Lions as the 6th wide-out right behind McCown.
Remember all the threads saying Josh would be a great starter somewhere else?

i say good luck to John Navarre. I liked him. I am never bitter toward players leaving. I wish him well in the future.

I like the idea of drafting Zabranksky also. he would make a fine back-up in a couple of years.

What about SiMEon Rice?

I do remember all the threads here and elsewhere .. all the Josh supporters said he just needed to go to a different team and he would immediately become the starter .. what happened .. ??? he showed in Detroit what he showed here .. which is not much ..

Not sure Josh had an opportunity on the field to show anything at all with the Lions. I thought McCown was a class act, I hope he finds success somewhere other than buried on the Lions WR depth chart... Yikes.

I agree that he should be able to have an opportunity to be a #2 or #3 QB for some team instead of a WR .. but I do not see him as a starter in this league at any time ..

John Navarre best known for being a Michigan QB.

I always remember Denny talking about John and all he really ever said was he went to the same college as Tom Brady.

Ugh.

Peace John

Save the roster spot for a good special teams player and make Q the #3 QB. Or would that mean he couldn't play, even at WR, unless one of the first two got hurt?

No bitterness towards Rice eithier. He was a very productive player for the cardinals. After Rice left there wasn't a pass rush for the Cardinals until Berry came here. The cardinals have sucking ever since.

From the limited resources I've come in contact with, Josh really never did all that much of a look. Apparantly Marenelli really liked Kitna from the get-go.
And even though Mad Mikey is the OC, having the HC pushing you helps a career immensely.

Or is a killer, if you are on the other side of the fence. But he only signed a 2 year contract, so who knows. I still don't think he's as dumb or slow as a lot of people seem to say.
I hope he does get another shot somewhere.

Talented QB's that just never really get a "fair" shot are not exactly an extinct species in the NFL.

I had forgotten about Boyd having been a Steeler.

My first guess here is, he will get a good shot. Obviously he's no stranger to Whis, and if Whis didn't think he was all that, then I doubt he'd even make the roster.

I don't know that much about Boyd, but it seemed a lot of people were pretty high on him in Pittsburgh, but unseating Big Ben is a pretty steep battle.

This will be interesting to keep an eye on.

I was never much of a Navarre fan. Not all that mobile and that funky delivery. For his size and arm strength he should have been a lot better than he was. He reminded me too much of Kent Graham, who I also think had too much trouble at times throwing a ball over onrushing defensive players arms. No excuse for that for a QB as tall as either of them are.

Never the less, he did seem like a good guy. So I'll wish him well.

See ME on......no way. Was a cancer tried and true. I don't regret anything at all about his departure, and never will. That was classic addition by subtraction, regardless of the individual talent he may have possessed but mis-used here.

Remember this about Boyd, never threw more TDs than Ints in college then followed that up with 5 TDs and 11 Ints in NFL Europe. His completion percentage has never even approached 60% anywhere he has been.

His scouting report out of college was saying he was an athelte better suited for RB or WR than QB.

I have more faith in Michael Spurlock as a QB--he was better in college...yet you all see what position he is playing in the NFL.

So now that we've got rid of the Viking bias, we will start off with the Steeler bias. We should be research all the ex-Steelers out there to see who will soon be on our team.
