Boller is a high first round draft pick and "franchise" qb...McCown isn't.

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

the Detroit game. Tell me what was so exceptional about Navaree D-dog?
Tell me? We know how you feel about McCown, but what is it about Navarre that was so great?

*yawn*

1. Incredibly poised in the pocket, calm, cool, collected. Owned the huddle. Had everyone's attention.
2. Hit his receivers.
3. Avoided the blitz very well, especially when everyone said this would be his achille's heel because he was "immobile." He can't run, but he can move in the pocket and gives recievers more time to run their routes because he doesn't get happy feet and jackrabbit out of the pocket at the first sign of trouble. Seeing that in a rookie is refreshing.
4. BEFORE breaking his finger, he played a great first half. Only one major bad decision, and that was throwing into double coverage at the end of the half.
5. He was playing his first game, on the road, with perhaps the 5th best running back on the roster there for support. He performed.
6. His ball had zip, and good placement (until his finger was toasted).
7. He had little familiarity with the first unit, and would have improved in that area alone. Not to mention the general improvement of a rookie.
8. He did a lot of the little things that QBs have to learn how to do over time. That means, he can work on other things (like fixing his throwing motion).

I expected a LOT worse performance from a 7th rounder, but this guy showed tons of promise and confidence. His second half was crap, but I can totally write that off to his finger being swollen by that point. He should have sat the second half. Josh is in his third year and hasn't shown that kind of confidence and poise, and command of the huddle and the pocket. King is in his 6th or 7th year and looks like a midget with his head cut off out there.

And excuse me, but I didn't find ANYTHING exceptional about Navarre. I found him to be better than the other two QBs on the roster, even at this stage. If you paid attention earlier, I said he could be an outstanding BACKUP, or a marginal starter...more likely a backup.

There, I told you. I told you.

It has nothing to do with that, but if you followed the exchange, you'd see that it was an explanation of why Boller is given so much time to succeed.

When drafted, Boller was believed to be the franchise QB for the Ravens, Josh was not drafted under those circumstances, that's all masterphomeg was saying and I think he made it clear that was the case.

Look Navarre is being brought in to fail. If you can't see that than I can't help you. End of story.

I love statements like these because observers are supposed to just accept what is said as fact. So please, try and help me, I can't "see" that because I live in NY and don't get the games or any of the other media related stuff you guys get like radio shows.

So maybe you could like, you know, give a reason as to why you think he was brought in to fail. It might make the statement that an NFL coach is trying to have his QB fail, and indirectly cause the team to lose, a little less absurd.

Or you can basically call me in idiot like you did D-Dogg.

Edit: spelling.

Isn't it obvious? Denny doesn't want to make the playoffs and have to deal with that pesky million dollar bonus the Bidwills would pay him.

I'm with you D-Dogg on Navarre. I think it's a real shame about his injury. Because I would of liked to see more of him.

No way

I'll give you poise. That's it.
One 80 yard drive dink and dunk passes. Good runs.
1 td 1 Int.
Rackers, and Rackers, Excellent field position to start with.
I don't doubt Navarre can be a good QB as I don't doubt McCown can be,
that said, cover your mouth when you yawn and don't shout at people. it's rude.

dink and dunk passes? You kind of neglect to mention completely burning the blizt for a touchdown - finding the hot read with Jones for a 33 yard TD - no other QB on this roster has made that play so far this season.

Tobe honest - I didn't see much besides poise and that one hot read - but sadly that's more than I've seen from every one else(save one drive against the second to worst team in football).

Sorry Cheese

I wasn't neglecting it, I mentioned the TD. But the 80 yd. drive wasn't anything,QB, great, but a good drive non the less.
Jones slipped that first tackle, nice move on his part.
It really doesn't matter to me as long as we win. I just think at this point it's all personal viewpoint when it comes to the QB situation.
