I still think we have a shot at Aldridge - Maybe I'm just different, but if I was a FA I think it would be awesome to go to an up and coming team where you would be the clear #1 option. I would prefer that, as opposed to going to an established team who already has rings. It would just be more fun, more of a challenge, and more rewarding. I did hear that Aldridge has kids in SAS and DAL - That's a big plus in the Spurs favor, but if it was just about basketball, I think the Suns are still in play.

If we don't get Aldridge, I really think we need to zone in on Brandon Wright. He's the type of guy you don't realize how valuable he is until he's gone (Mavs are my 2nd favorite team, so I know). With the way the NBA is going, having a versatile 5' who finishes everything offensively, has a high IQ, can switch on pick-and-rolls, protect the rim a bit, etc. is VALUABLE. I also think he can play some 4' w/ Len (Which would eliminate his weakness of low-post D' / rebounding) and really cause a lot of mismatches once he starts practicing w/ the team, goes through training camp, etc.

W/ the cap going up, I would go up to $10 million / yr. for Wright (Ideally 7-8). I can't think of a better FA (or big man) to spend the cap space on ... It sounds bad to "stay pat" and essentially keep the front-court the same barring trade (And I do think a trade is coming anyway), but going after any other big guy on the market would just be taking a step back.

If they don't get Aldridge they should just re-sign Knight and Wright then fill out the roster with one bench riding backup big (alec brown?)and call it done for this year.
None of these other guys really move the needle past what the young guys can do. A healthy version of the roster they finished the year with plus Leuer and Booker could make the playoffs. So many close games lost last year. Better balance and chemistry should help.

And just like that, it looks like we got Chandler. I was thinking of touching on TC a bit in my last post ... The reason I preferred Wright over him was that Wright could also play 4' because of his versatility. I'll wait to see the terms of the contract, but I feel like TC is a bit redundant with Len. Will both only play 24 mpg ?

I will say though, I am a HUGE fan of Chandler (again Mavs my 2nd favorite team). He will help Len tremendously and his leadership/experience will be AMAZING for this team that desperately needs it ...

Wow! Funny, this has got to be the best the Suns have been at the 5 that I can recall.

Unless you count Amar'e. He did play the 5 most of the time, though we all know he wasn't a C.

Technicalities...

Kyle Singler has agreed to a 5-year deal, worth almost $25M with OKC. Singler averaged 6 ppg and 2.4 rpg last season.

Marc Stein is clueless, tell me the last time he actually had inside info.

He is just riding out his own assumption and hoping he is right.

David Aldridge reported today once more that the Suns are not trading Bledsoe.

It is much more likely that we move the Morri to make room. I also do not think that his info is correct on our capspace being compeltely used on Chandler.

Chandler will start at 11M$ or so most likely an ad we were supposed to have about 13M$ capspace, with the recent news of it being 2M$ more that would be 15M$.

Also we can probably do some tinkering with sign and trades.

Anyway the medie proved that they have no insight on the Suns at all. The Suns signed and brought Chandler to the meeting, obviously this has been planned, yet nobody reported anything about it.

During the draft they were clueless.

Now they are clueless.

But no surprise Marc Stein is trying to ride out his self-created Bledsoe rumor.

according to BSOTS we have to clear only 9M$ to fit Aldridge. So yeah I think the Morri and Tucker are 10x more likely to be moved than Bledsoe.

We want

Chandler/Len
Aldridge/??/Leuer
Tucker/Warren/Granger
Knight/Booker
Bledsoe/Goodwin/??

Put Amare and Ish Smith in there and we are officially back.

Sounds much better than trading Bledsoe if possible.

Best part aside from Chandler providing leadership and minutes at the 5, the Suns are the only team that can walk into their meeting with Aldridge and let him know he will never have to play the 5 which he hates. S.A. can't. Portland can't, L.A. LOL..., Dallas can't, Houston maybe, but they already have 2 big headed stars that won't appeal to Aldridge I'd imagine if he is looking to be the lead. Hmmmmm this actually could work. It's free to dream!

I think so. They are respected, especially Kieff for their play around the league.

Not only that, but the Suns could sweeten a trade although I hate parting with draft picks.

The Suns might have to include one of the Heat picks to sweeten the deal, but it could be done. Hopefully they already have a few promising leads, if they think they're real contenders for Aldridge. Otherwise they might be forced into an expensive panic dump to make room for Aldridge if he actually chooses them.

I think a contingent trade already has to be in place if the Suns should come to an agreement with Aldridge.

Boston maybe?

Spurs talk is convinced that LMA's agent is leaking this to make the Suns look good in an effort to thank the Suns for Brandon Knight's contract since Knight and LMA both have the same agent and that LMA himself doesn't actually have any interest in the Suns.

Similar to last year with Rich Paul and LeBron/Bledsoe?

Dear lord, you've taken your parroting negative blather from trash sources to new heights today.

Time to finally use the ignore feature.

I'd imagine they wouldn't hesitate in trading picks to get a player the caliber of LMA. I mean adding a player like him while only losing the twins may push us to top 4-5 in the West.
