Suns have basically clinched at least one more home game, as the Warriors cannot beat them head-to-head. But since there are multiple scenarios with 2-5 teams tied in the standings, all the permutations are complex

Pels/Kings tonight so it will be a back-to-back for the Kings when we play them tomorrow.

It’s not an “or” as I keep seeing people type. Right now we have played one more game than the Pels but we are tied in the win column at 47. If we win out we have 49 wins. If the Pels win out they have 50 wins. That’s not an “or” scenario. We need both to happen to tie them in the standings and gain the 6th seed by way of tiebreaker.

Otherwise known as an "and". :)

Suns need to win out AND Pelicans need to lose a game.

OR

Pelicans lose all three remaining games

OR

Pelicans lose 2 of three AND Suns win 1 of final two

Even if Pels were to lose all three, we'd need at least one Kings loss, I believe.

Postseason seeding possibilities entering tonight’s games.
*A Pelicans loss tonight by the Kings puts the Suns back in the 6th Seed.

Fingers crossed that the Kings and TWolves decide to just play their second stringers against us.

Wild that there are so many spots up in the air - teams in the east can go from a 2 or 3 seed to the play-in

As of now, with one game left, the sons are the seven seed and would host the eight seed LA Lakers

Every 7th seed in the play-in tournament has advanced. Crossing my fingers if this is where the Suns land.

This is pretty crazy. If the lakers do lose to NO, and the Kings beat the blazers and GS beats the Jazz, there will be a 3 way tie with those 3. Who holds the tiebreaker there? All 3 of those teams want the 8 seed because it's only one win and your in.

Warriors and Kings owned the Lakers this season -- the Lakers have a lot of motivation to beat the Pels, otherwise they are in the 9/10 game if they lose. Assuming the other two win, the Lakers would fall to 10 if NO beats them.

I believe in a 3 way tie and since all 3 are in the same division it comes down to division record. Lakers have the worst one, Kings have the best one, so it would be Kings 8, Warriors 9 and Lakers 10.

These games Sunday afternoon are going to be crazy.

. Phoenix Suns (47-33)

  • Tiebreaker vs. New Orleans: Suns clinched
  • Tiebreaker vs. Kings: Tied 2-2 with one to play
  • Tiebreaker vs. Dallas: Mavs clinched
  • Tiebreaker vs. Warriors: Suns clinched
  • Tiebreaker vs. Lakers: Lakers clinched
I was not a fan of the play in game early on, but I have since changed my mind. This is great for the NBA to see all of these high leverage games late in the year. I really hope that both LA teams and GS get eliminated straight away. I'm tired of seeing them in the playoffs and its time for younger players to step up and take the torch from all of those old guys who are going to be out of the league soon. The Clippers are locked into a series with Dallas. Dallas is locked into the 5 seed, they sat Doncic and Irving last night.
