Not that I'm a Horry fan, but the guy moves from NBA Championship team to NBA Championship team (Rockets - Lakers - Spurs).

Robert Horry is on the verge of having 7 rings if (when) the Spurs win the title this year. Sounds like a lot of rings? I was surprised to find several players have many more.

But then consider Horry's company among the career ring leaders. Only seven players have won more championships, all as members of the 1960s Boston Celtics dynasty: Bill Russell (11); Sam Jones (10); John Havlicek, Tom Heinsohn, K.C. Jones and Tom Sanders (eight each); and Frank Ramsey (seven). All but Sanders are in the Hall of Fame.

Yeah but only Horry can claim to have played with the likes of Akheem, clyde drexler, shaq, David Robinson, Tim duncan and Kobe. So Horry has played with more great players than perhaps any NBA player ever. Steve Kerr also has more rings than Steve Nash, but I dont think anyone believes theres anything to that.

If he'd been on any team other than the Rockets at the time, he wouldn't have won a ring, any team other than the Lakers at the time, he wouldn't have won a ring, and any team other than the Spurs lately, he wouldn't have won a ring. Possible exceptions: The Spurs who lost to the Lakers and the Heat last year.

My bad on David, but the rest of the group is pretty incredible, doubt you can find a player that has played with as many greats. Akheem was amazing(my top all around center of all time), shaq (unstoppable on the low block for years), kobe(Im not a fan, but the guy is a great player in any era), clyde(great finisher with max hops, defense, rebounding, a complete stud), and Duncan, what most people refer to as the greatest PF of all time.

Robert Horry is a great player with seven rings

This would truly make Robert Horry a Hall of Famer, because he has more rings than only a small number of players. Even Michael Jordan has only six rings. The number of championships earned is a true measure of a player's greatness.

This further shows the embarrassment of the Suns organization. The Suns have never won a championship while the Spurs have four.

And if he'd been on at least 2 of those Bulls teams he'd have 9 rings. Give the man his credit fam. Yeah he's part lucky to have been on those squads, but it's not like he was some deep reserve who just happened to be in the right place at the right time. He's on those teams for a reason, and contributed on every one of them.

If KC Jones (8 titles) belongs to the Hall of Fame with his career averages of 7 pts and 4 asts, well Horry deserves it too.

Horry has done nothing but piggy backed his way into those 7 rings...

Every year that his team won a championship, he averaged less than 10 PPG, (his highest was 9.2 in 1993 with the rockets) and his last 6 rings his averages were:

4.8 PPG 2.7 RPG in 18 MPG

He has a career scoring average of 7.2 PPG and 4.9 RPG...

Not only does he NOT belong in the Hall of Fame, but the fact that he has backed into 7 rings should NEVER be mentioned by anyone as a GREAT accomplishmen for him... all he does is sign with the best team in the league and ride the bench to collect his ring....

Robert Horry belongs in the Scott Williams/Mark Madison conversation more than anything...
