yeah cause that stops players from requesting trades.
He can request but the team isn’t obligated to deal him. Maybe if there’s 2 years left, but not 4.

Relying on the draft for a fix is getting old when the Suns can't draft.

They got something for the player - not something for the contract. Which of our "expiring players[contracts]" are other teams hot for? An injured Baynes, perhaps?

Something very weird is going on with our injuries.

Baynes and Cam Johnson should absolutely be back if their injuries were as reported.

True. He can just pull an Eric Bledsoe and quit on the team. That will be a wonderful look for us...

Well, in the draft everyone can get lucky.

But probably not if you are looking to draft seniors - it's got to be someone with potential which James seems scared of.

And of course they're not. Ownership and management are a bunch of liars.

Is Baynes eligible to be traded after the deadline? You'd have to expose him to recallable waivers or something?

Bickley, Marotta, Burns and Gambo are all on KTAR expressing exasperation at the lack of a plan and the lack of activity. The Suns have become a joke even to their own local media.

Tyler Johnson, Baynes, and Saric. All assets lost without compensation.

We will have plenty of space in free agency to add some quality depth, but it would have been nice to at least add some depth in the here and now.

Now we need to get healthy and put up a nice run for the rest of the season so players are more likely to want to join us next off season.

Bickley just acknowledged that Booker has looked entirely fed up and ready to move on since the All Star snub, and the KTAR folks are now speculating how much worse that feeling will become with what happened today..

Despondent. That's the word now being used on KTAR to describe the overall sentiment among the local media, Devin Booker and the fans.

Normally I am watching all day at the trade deadline. I have given it all of five minutes.

maybe if something interesting happens I will pay attention.

Unfortunately we have I believe the hardest schedule of any team for the rest of the season and it’s not looking like any of our injured players are coming back anytime soon. It could get ugly real quick. Hope I’m wrong.

With only half of a team right now and no moves being made, how in the world are we going to even finish out this season? You can't play the starters 40+ minutes every night. We have to start tanking now and just let the G league squad play a bunch of minutes.

The value of keeping them is building cap space for ourselves. That's not to say that we are going to bring in any star players by any means, but we will have enough space to add 2-3 quality rotation players in free agency. Would have liked to do something to improve right now, but those aren't completely lost asserts because we didn't trade them.

Bickley just expressly called out the front office on the failure to be proactive.

All four on KTAR just expressed that this summer is the absolute last chance for this franchise to keep Booker, and that things don't look encouraging there.
