I feel like I'm on a seesaw when this idea comes up. Yes, when Atyon plays like he did in Miami, we are really close to being a championship contender. But when he plays like he did in our recent loss to Minnesota, I think we look more like playoff fodder for the real contenders.

I do think the Suns are close especially when I see Torrey Craig can play some 4.

The Suns need good performances from Ayton to win in the playoffs, not spectacular. Suns are deep this season with exceptional role players. Bridges might be a budding star.

My concern has switched to adding someone that can give Ayton or Saric a break. Saric looks like he needs some rest.

IMO, when you get this close, you go for it especially when some of the other contenders have injury issues.

especially with CP3 at the age of 35. This window might only last one year more. When it's there, you go for it if you can.

Interesting. I haven't followed Nance Jr. much.

man... that's basically giving up 2 1st round picks for Nance. I don't think he's the missing piece, but he definitely could produce more than Stix and would be an athletic big...ish. 6'7, but long arms and got some good ups.

I hope I'm wrong but Smith has not shown much and the Suns first round pick would be later in the draft. Carter isn't getting much playing time either.

I'd be willing to do a trade if Nance is the right player. A center would work as well.

Nance could backup Crowder. The trade would create two roster spots. The Suns could add a buyout center as well.

Also Carter is under contract for 3 years and almost 12 million. That money could be spent on Nance.

I guess the question is Nance worth it? I don't know. I'd like to have a younger guy with some spring in his step on that second unit for sure.

I want to pull the trigger so bad but I don't know either. If James Jones likes Nance, do it. He knew what he was doing with Craig.

Ever since the Suns didn't draft Haliburton I have been questioning the pick.

I don't think I would do it. That price seems to high to me. Jaylen or a 1st, but not both.

Nance would not help with guarding centers either, he's too small.

Remember is McD years, crickets and a lot of yawns during the trade deadlines or filling the final roster spots.

Jones has been making moves, solid moves as far as fit and function. Although we are still missing a forward/center i understand as we cant fill all the positions of a contender in one season.

BUT difficult choices will come next year and we will see what we want to spend to live with those choices.

Suns apparently making calls on Aldridge...per WOJ

Maybe Saric and Aldridge can split center duties.

Do you have a link to their trade deadline special or is it a pay thing?

Not to trade for I hope - that would be crazy.

I can’t imagine what salaries we’d have to put together to make a deal for Aldridge that wouldn’t hurt the team and it’s depth.

Here to say that there are no major trades that would help this team. We're #2 in the conference. We should be scouring the buyout market or maybe flip a couple of end-of-the-rotation players for a better player.
