Big 12 got jobbed big time. 2 worthy teams and they got nothing. Committee sold out to the networks. Ohio State and FSU deserved to be last 2 out.

Baylor ( Baptist)and TCU (Christian) are small town private religious schools. That is what they had going against them. If Texas and Oklahoma , 2 Big 12 schools were in this position, one of them would be in.The committee sucks. They forsook entertainment and worth for Big $$$$$$$$$$ for network.

I will admit I haven't seen Baylor or TCU play this year. But it would be difficult for me to imagine that they could be competitive with FSU or Ohio State. I have no trouble with this call.

Unfortunately, you are probably right. More $ with Ohio State than the other 2. Plus, it was mentioned before the game between OSU and Wisconsin, if Jones (OSU QB) has an outstanding game, OSU is in. And seeing that he and the rest of the team dominated the Badgers, there was no question they were going to be in. I can't stand Ohio St, but there was no way the committee was going to leave them out.... IMO

Too bad you haven't had the pleasure to watch Baylor and/or TCU. Some of the mos entertaining football imaginable.

Worst thing about FSU, other than Jameis and Jimbo is that OCD crowd with their incessant war chant.

If you don't like Defense :D

Yes, the War chant is reason enough to kick FSU out

The college game is not built, under the rules to play defense.

Alabama is the only team of those 4 that plays defense well enough to be considered decent on the D side.

Didn't say War Chant was a reason to kick them to the curb. Try living in ACC region and listen to those automatons.

Saying that it was network $ that influenced the situation is unfounded. It is the first college football playoffs. It would be getting attention regardless of who is in it. I can't see the television ratings being all that different if it were Baylor, TCU or Ohio State as the last team in. The Big 12's "No True Champion" hurt it. They now realize that and will fix it.

While I agree with you that Ohio State doesn't belong but to imply FSU doesn't is silly. How do you boot out a team that is not only the defending National Champion but a team that hasn't lost a game in over 2 years? It doesn't matter that they haven't blown anybody out. What matters is that they play and won a FBS conference and most of all, unbeaten.

"all that different" certainly matters to the networks and college football. Just 1 ratings point increase or decrease would represent a LOT of money.

Last year has nothing to do with this year.

Amongst the media pundits your statement is in disagreement with theirs.

Last year has nothing to do with this year.

I don't have a problem with FSU getting in, but the last minute elevation of Ohio St. over 2 teams that did not lose that week just reeks of favoritism and successful lobbying.

Really? Did you see what they did to Wisconsin, rated around #11? With a third string QB? Almost every FSU game I saw this year it seemed like they had to come from behind in the second half. They were not a dominant team.

The ones I read said nothing about it being about money and all about who deserved to be there. If they had elevated a two loss team I could see the argument. Not so much with a conference champion who demolished their opponent. I wouldn't have had an issue if Baylor or TCU was in over Ohio St but I can totally see the argument about why Ohio St made it and they didn't. If TCU or Baylor would have had a better non-conference schedule they probably would have made it but the crap they played in non-conference did them absolutely no favors.

No it doesn't. Not in something like this. The price is set and the commercial time is sold long before the teams are announced. ESPN doesn't get to go back and charge higher prices because the audience was bigger.

You are not thinking like a network executive. The big picture matters.
