The NCAA had the following to say on the Turkish player who Kentucky signed to an LOI.

“Enes took advantage of an opportunity to play at the highest level available to him, but the consequences of receiving payments above his actual expenses is not compatible with the collegiate model of sports that our members have developed,” said Kevin Lennon, NCAA vice president of academic and membership affairs.

Kind of a forgone conclusion. It may look like a huge blow to Kentucky but UK gets a visit from Perry Ellis this weekend and most likely a commitment. They could even move in on either Amir Williams, Norvel Pelle or Angelo Chol.

Pelle committed to St. Johns today. Lavin sure has fooled a lot of kids Pelle said "I know he's a smart coach." I hope for the sake of some of these kids that Lavin is smart enough to let Dunlap and the assistants do the actual coaching.

I can see Polee and Pelle in a few years wondering why they're not any better than they were when they arrived.

BTW, Kanter is a HUGE blow to UK this year. Remember they lost essentially all their bigs to the draft . With Kanter ineligible they only brought in Eloy Vargas and Terrence Jones, and the talk was that Jones was essentially told he'd be playing the 3 at UK which is why he chose to drop UW(who would have played him at the 4). So guess where Jones will be playing for UK this year, the 4 of course.

They only have 3 on the roster 6'8" or taller and one is a 6'10" senior who barely played the last 2 seasons, the others are Jones and Vargas. They still have talent obviously but they really needed Kanter inside.

They're appealing but it seems unlikely the NCAA will change their opinion, he's a pro and has been for some time.
