Quarterback DeShone Kizer came in for the injured Malik Zaire and threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Will Fuller with 12 seconds left Saturday and No. 9 Notre Dame beat Virginia in a thrilling finish, 34-27. The last-minute victory was tempered when Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said after the game that Zaire would be out for the season with a fractured ankle. The injury comes a week after the Fighting Irish (2-0) lost their top running back Tarean Folston, and found a strong backup in C.J. Prosise.
