If they have any Castle Botiques in Denver, you might try that place. If your gonna get her some lingere, you might as well get something you'll both enjoy.

Ah geesh! You men are all alike, LOL! :)

Flowers. Jewelry. A nice dinner and a massage. Jewelry. A gift certificate to a spa. Jewelry. A few favorite CDs. Jewelry.

You get the picture. :)

What does she like? Does she collect anything? Have a favorite sports team? These are questions that need to be answered, man!

Don't forget the card. You have to get a card.

Good luck! :)

Stop by AJ's. Get yourself some surf and turf. Pick up some flowers there as well (good selection, one stop shop). Grab a bottle of chianti on the way out... Bonus: No wrapping needed.

Then stop by Ann Taylor / where ever she likes, and pick up a couple of things. Error on the "small" side.

Crank up some Bob Marley and chill.

Do the dishes afterward.

<p>Everything was perfect until you said Bob Marley. Bad news. Johnny Mathas, Paul Hardcastle, or Lou Rawls. Real music---soft and romantic where you can hear and enjoy it, but it blends into the background and allows you to pursue other options without being distracted by the music. BTW---make sure the chianti is Ruffino Reserve.

Things to get her for her birthday

#1 Something you can do together.

Like go to one of those ceramic studios. Bring a bottle of wine. Make her something yourself.

#2 Art is always good.

If you know who her favorite artist is, go and buy her a framed print of something that artist did. Lasts a lot longer than roses.

#3 Spoil her

Nothing wrong with a day at the spa.

#4 Want to get her something different in jewelry?

Try http://www.angieolami.com/

This is jewelry crafted from shards of glass made in 300 BC. For around 100-150 dollars, you can get her something that is over 2000 years old. Great conversation piece for her girlfriends.

#5 Dinner and Coach

Horse drawn carriage ride through downtown to her favorite restraunt always a good idea.

This is just some of the things that have worked for me with my gf. The key is to be different. Keep her on her toes.

Here's something that ALWAYS works really well...

Grab your groin and say, "Yeah, baby. I've got your present right here!" :D

I always score (not literally) with something she collects, or something fun to do. For my wife's birthday last year we went to Cancun, relately cheaply I might add. Be imaginative and never, ever, under any circumstance should you buy her household equipment such as a blender or a vaccum cleaner...trust me

Yes, household appliances as gifts are a mistake you'll only make once. Our first Christmas together, I bought my wife a vaccum. Great idea, I thought, since she was always bitching about the old one. Well, that gift led to the period of our relationship I call "The Big Freeze". :( Live and learn, I guess.

************* - so not right

first, whoever said the card was 100% correct. if you can make her cry with what you write in the card, it almost (i said ALMOST) doesn't matter what you buy her.

second, you got two choices - #1 go big. we're talkin' jewelry (if you've been dating over a year, under a year it's either not gonna be her style, it's over-reaching, or it's gonna be too little, regardless, under a year it ain't gonna be right), or something nice (ann taylor was a good guess, but make certain the clothing is accurate to her tastes). #2 go creative. get her a lot of little things that you've seen her pick up and look at (but not bought) at places like Pier One or Bed, Bath and Beyond, etc. Then do sumpin' with all that (like create a game show in your home for after dinner - Do you want what's behind door #1 or what's in the box - all the while hiding all of the smaller, but thoughtful, gifts around the house. you end with asking if she wants to trade all those gifts for what's behind your zipper - this actually went over HUGE once.)

good luck.

What?
A nice card, some candy and put the toilet seat down. Should do the trick!

I have never understood the "no Appliance" Rule...

As human I have interests and any gift that matched my interests would be greatly appreciated. Working on Cars or woodworking are my hobbies and if any gift coincided with those hobbies I would be greatly appreciative...

I broke the "no househole Appliance" rule once... It was this last Christmas and it was the Best recieved gift to date... (even over weekend vacations - as gifts)... Her hobby is baking, she loves it, she has always stated desires for a Kitchen Aid Blender... I bought it, and she loved it...

She was giddy and called everyone that she talks to that shares that hobby....

I think it is all based on the people and the situation... Generalized rules never work...

;)
