Digital distribution is the future, but only if they can monetize it and make as much money as they do from TV contracts. Right now Gamepass lets you watch the games in the US after 24 hours. Customers overseas get to stream them live because the NFL doesn't have the TV contracts there. It was an option here as well via VPN, but not sure if the NFL is cracking down on that option.

Just seems so obvious you should be able to do it like On Demand. I want to watch the Cards and Patriots, it's not on my local tv so I just go to on demand and pay 9.99 or whatever the NFL wants me to pay and watch it.

Not sure what comes first, that, or the banning of NFL football because of too many head injuries.

How do you stream them overseas? I'm going to be in Panama and Costa Rica in December and I darn sure want to watch
the games.

Please explain in plain English...:D

Not quite true

Gamepass lets you view a game after it is over + a delay.

For Cardinals they are usually up by 9pm the day of the game, sometimes earlier [iirc]. We watch a lot like that

If all you want to do is stream a couple of games, you can usually find a reliable stream somewhere. I'll usually look on reddit at r/nflstreams, for example. This past season I did that to watch other games. I also had no problem finding good quality streams at bosscast.net. Overseas fans can purchase the Gamepass deal from the NFL, just like you can here. The difference is they get to stream them live, and we get to watch them 24 hours later here. You'd need a VPN to make it appear as if you were connecting from the Netherlands, for example, to purchase what I assume to be a different international package. I haven't tried it from abroad, but Dish lets you stream your receiver from any device with dishanywhere. Not sure if Directv has something similar.

In the US, sure.
If you live outside the U.S., Mexico Bermuda, Antigua, or the Bahamas, however, you can watch live games with Game Pass.
To the creative mind, this opens an opportunity. You can use a virtual private network (VPN) or web proxy to make it appear that you're watching from Canada or the European Union where you can legally subscribe to the live service. In some countries, such as the Canada and United Kingdom, the Sunday night, Monday night and Thursday night games are blacked out because local broadcasters may carry these games.

I think the UK is excluded.

Which VPN would you recommend?
The NFL has blocked a lot of the VPN's so it's much tougher than it used to be. Finding something on r/nflstreams is probably the best way to do it right now.

Can you pause and rewind the game using them?

I personally like PIA don't know how the nfl can tell which VPN you are using.

It checks the IP that's trying to connect to the streaming server. If it's US based it's blocked. Even the VPN's people use generally route outside of the US and back to look like a foreign IP.

One way a stream can get around this is if someone is actually streaming the from their computer. A kind of stream of a stream. In this instance you're not connecting to the NFL's stream directly.
